Default 2016 Miata | Turbocharged, LifeRacing & Quaife Sequential

Hi guys,

I started this build quite sometime ago but faced many transmission failures. I am confident I can now let this chassis shine on its full glory since the car will be soon bulletproof (minus driver haha). The car was initially purchased with the sole purpose of becoming a daily for my at the time girlfriend. "Unfortunately" things went south and the relationship ended. I got to keep the baby!

The car sat pretty and clean for a short amount of time!

First trackday happened in no time!

I have had a fascination for Japanese tuning methodologies. MTE37 were a must with this build! 16x8 +25 wheels were installed in the car and sadly were incompatible with many big big brake kits.

I ended up piecing together a Wilwood 6pot kit with 13" rotors and custom brackets. The result was quite pleasing!

Suspension was the next thing in line. At the time, I couldn't yet pull the trigger on the amazing spool type DSSV race shocks used in the GMX5 cup cars.
- I purchased a generic coilover type body from a Taiwanese power house
- Stuffed those suckers with Ohlins internals and coated them with Swift Springs
- The result, 2-way adjustable race shocks on an insane budget lol

The setup is not the best but it performs great for the budget! The custom Valving allows spring rates between 750lbs & 1100lbs at the front and 400-700lbs in the rear.

Power was next in line. AVO Turboworld came handy with the NA bolt ons. I never got to tune this setup but it made nice power at my local dyno

At about 4,000 miles, I decided to call them and added a turbo kit. Boy... this is where I wish I kept it simple haha

OEM like finish and perfect for the streets in California.

Later on I pulled the trigger and decided to get a DG motorsports hardtop. This one needed a lot of prep work to make it fit decent!
I also added a Voltex Swan Neck Spoiler with custom mounts and a custom reinforced carbon kevlar backing plate. This angle make it look funky!

The car looks significantly better at rolling speed

Sorry but no updates other than the car is now fitted with a Motec ecu. I somehow got hooked into Aquascaping and lost track of car things lol.
