400+ HP Cooling Mods
We ended up with a build that was bigger than we originally planned so it went under the knife the last couple of weeks to hopefully be ready for another hot Texas summer.
The barely used Mishimoto IC (core: 20”x6.25”x2.5”) was replaced with a Fab9 Stage 2 (core: 22”x9”x3.25”) and the 13 row oil cooler replaced with a 19 row. The 2 puller fans (4”, 2A) from previous setup were reused. Will make up a fan shroud when I have time and patience to do so.
Front bar from Matrussell122 mounted to get my cut lines
The cut line is right inside the most inner welded nut for the tow hook. The Fab9 intercooler was perfectly set up with the angled tabs that mate right up to those inner tow hook bolt holes.
Fabricated brackets for the oil cooler and it is solidly mounted with 3 corners. I had already purchased the 19 row and could have gone even bigger with the newly found space.
I located a horizontal A/C drier that fit quite nicely in there too. The OEM vertical ones just don’t fit any more. This was yet another hassle to keep a working A/C system.
Still have to work on some air flow ducting mods and plug some gaps. Suggestions on what materials to use is welcome.
Also got the new Skunk2 64mm throttle body put on. Here’s the engine bay as it stands right now:
Happy trails and stay cool....
