Sweet looking power curve but without RPM's it's hard to see what's what. Congrats on solid numbers!

Please excuse my ignorance, but being not from the USA, I am curious, is this at all road legal? How do the road authorities and police react to something like this should they for whatever reason want to look under the hood?
Looks awesome that's for sure, and a real sleeper to top it off.

Technically this is illegal everywhere as it violates federal laws regarding the removal of emissions equipment. However, in practice it really depends on the state in which you are located because the EPA doesn't have an enforcement arm that has time to be inspecting individual cars. Some states have strict annual or biennial emissions testing and others do not. California is the most famous for it's emissions requirements and inspections. Florida is probably the most notorious for it's complete lack of emissions or safety inspections.

I could drive this car around as a daily in Florida and the cops would never give me a second look. It's simply not a priority here. The department of motor vehicles (DMV) would never even look at the car when I registered it or when I renew the registration on an annual basis. I just show them the title and pay the fees and they are happy. There is a whole spectrum between complete freedom and restrictive emissions requirements throughout the states.

Just curious, what's your WG spring pressure set at and where are you at power wise on spring pressure? Excitement levels are through the roof on seeing these results! Cant wait to see it at MATG

In addition to all that it just depends on when you live within each state too. In one city (Santa Rosa?) up here in NorCal I heard they have sniffers on the off ramp with cameras to catch polluters. In others you don’t even have to do SMOG checks. The type of car matters too. Changes of getting busted if you’re all riced out go up. The 911 crowd enjoys greater latitude.

Roll the dice and enjoy life!

Lol, I got the same questions when I went to Aus from the ARB guys. Really depends on the state over here, but usually laws just have to do with emissions, not power thankfully.

Yeah sorry, I'll have to get the winpep file from the tuner and make a graph with RPM. Redline is 8500, so you can do the math. It sounds so wild at full boost at 8500.

This car will pass emissions in Illinois or Michigan, so that's legal enough for us. Zero issues street driving a car like this around here, I've had so many swapped cars over the years and have never had an issue. Way more drama from cops in my stock-ish M3 daily than any Miata, even though the Miatas are all way more rowdy. If you stay out of the throttle (which isn't easy) it rolls quietly down the highway looking like a stock Miata with some suspension and wheels on it. Most states are like this, but California would definitely hassle you for this setup.

We have a 7 lb spring in the WG currently. We're controlling things with Kpro 4 and a 4 port mac valve. It will be really great once we can get the boost by gear dialed in. We have a VSS signal going to the ECU already from a wheel speed sensor (also powering the speedometer), we just ran out of time this week.

I think that was more or less what I was expecting you'd say. I am certainly jealous of (some of) the relaxed road laws, making builds like this more viable than they are in my side of the world.
I see videos on youtube of 'lifted miatas' just trundling down the road like its totally normal. Over here that'd be an instant nope.

Anyway back on topic, once again, well done on the results

I thought huge horsepower modifications and engine swaps were pretty common in Australia.

I'm sure like the US, there's a broad spectrum of emissions laws and a scale in how rigid the local law is. I know in Oregon I only need to pass a sniffer test. Drive 6 hours south and you're in California.

From my recent trip, I think that's just the burnout competitions and **** that we see. Maybe in cars that aren't on the street, but nothing over there seemed that highly modified. And when I talked to the guys at work they were all blown away with what I could get away with. It seemed like a higher amount of cars were slightly modified, but few were very modified. Their laws are a ton stricter on modifications, as are their cops on traffic laws and ****.

That sums it up pretty well.
