Most paint problems (I'm guestimating at 85%) are caused by laying it on too thick. Thin coats, many times, is better than one or two thick ones.

Also not letting paint De-gas properly before adding another coat.

Not flooding the part with water after cleaning to get rid of chemicals

Drying said object with a rag(have fun getting rid of the tufts of rag that rip loose!)

Last time I was in OR I spent a lot of time and money at the Full Sail Brewery in Hood River.

4 days consisting of:
Mountain biking
drinking
Mountain biking
drinking
Falling over on mountain bike while doing downhill trail inebriated
drinking

God I loved Hood River and Astoria.

<br />I ******* love hood river. It was my summer home for years, I worked in an orchard there. I assume you went mountain biking at post canyon? Know that orchard you drive by at the top? Yeah I worked there for 6 summers. My gf also had an awesome crash up there, full on feet hitting head after slamming on the breaks.

No ****? I parked my car illegally off the dirt road in between a couple trees by some old house foundation to sleep every night. That orchard was awesome, I wanted to look around the property so bad.

Plus that view overlooking the mountains blew my mind after being in UT for 8 years, you forget how green **** gets.

Post Canyon, yes, that is the name. I met some Geologist who knew all the (super complex) trail systems and gave me the full tour. You guys don't know how lucky you are having such great trails...yes I realize coming from a guy who lives half an hour from world class mountain biking here in Utah that sounds odd but forest trails> desert trails any day of the week.

<br />Next time you're out we should go up there. I'm not an amazing mountain biker but I can hold my own on anything that doesn't have huge drops lol. Also, the cherries are the best cherries you will ever have. They are picked later than the rest of the valley so the sugar content is the highest you can get. It makes packing and transporting them really hard. Those cherries get flown to London and Japan! They even sent a box down to California in an F-15(?) Because a higher up liked the cherries so much. I miss that place, I still work with the owners a bit because they're working on switching to optical cherry sorting. They're basically my second family lol.

<br />That trail system is ridiculous. I helped build some of the smaller ones years ago, and knew a lot of the guys that built the original trails. Also check out sandy ridge when you come out next, its a relatively new trail system that is being built on constantly. Its on the portland side of mount hood.

We used to get in a lot of trouble riding dirt bikes on those trails. Bikers hate them haha.

We don't mind them as long as they don't churn up packed trail dirt and put rutd in the trail. Who we abso-*******-lutely hate is 4 wheels riding on single track. They destroy trail faster than Fae Fae can a Miata.

In Utah its different though. Dirt bikers aren't that bad because all we ride on here is hard desert clay pack, rocks, and sand. There is a no riding rule for 2 days after it rains in Utah due to the clay being so soft that any indents in it become like rock once it dries out. If we catch someone on the trail after a rain they pretty much get banned from bike shops.

Well to carry the offtopic farther, after this morning I now remember where my OCD fulminated from a laughable "I'm so OCD" to slightly more rediculous.

Owning a bakery and trying to make damn good bread. Bread is a weird combination of art and science. Mostly science, as you can use a very long formula calculating humidity/outside temp/inside temp/flour temp/water temp/wheat coarsness/yeast freshness/time mixed/dough firmness and about 20 other variables to make a perfect loaf of bread.

It is a fun game for me, and damn did it work out good last night.



On a slightly more on topic note, lets hope I got the alignment on all this **** right! Not sure what I'm going to do about that lower cover. The thickness of the FM timing gear rubs against the lower part of the plastic. Maybe just trim it above the wheel or toss it in the trash?
