No, it was pointless, retarded, and he took it off.

I went back and actually read some of the longer written sections and the cops there seem really like to give tuner cars ****. That sucks man, but it seems like its worth the hassle to be able to drive such an amazing car. Also shitty with all those fuel problems from the FM fuel sys. Whatever happened to the FD diffuser?

Charlie, I heard Australia has some strict and ridiculous laws against modified cars. Anti-hooning and whatnot. How do you get away with driving to and from the track?

He's just been lucky not to get booked in Queensland (he's had at least one incident with some very "understanding" cops) but has been defected in New South Wales so can never return the car there on the road without fixing those defects.

I think most of us just try to fly under the radar and hope we won't get defected. Cops here really don't look at understated MX5s when there's plenty of obviously defect-laden Nissans, Mitsubishisi and Suburus.

I'm trying hard to make the connection between "understated" and charlie's miata.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know what the average car looks like in Australia but if his car is understated I wanna see some pictures of overstated.

Hey mate, yeah it was disappointing actually. I thought i was doing the best and easiest thing getting that fuel system as i though it was ready to go and handle all my fuel requirements.. Its just a **** design. Main line that shoots up to the rail was about 40cm to long and i was told by flyin miata to "loop it around something to get rid of the excess" and thats just not good enough.

The returnless setup may work ok for the v8 swaps but for a fuel setup that is meant to have a return line they should have stated that. Would have solved a lot of dramas if i had known that in the beginning and saved me a lot of money.

The diffuser i sold off ages ago. i never fitted it correctly and there was no point keeping it on the car.

Like stated already, im just lucky. I try to take the most direct routes to the track and back and i know all the roads that the cops pick on haha :P So i figure if i just quickly get there and back i should be ok. But when i did get pulled up that one time in the morning. It was 6am and i had a car full of tools, jack etc so it was obvious i was taking it to the track and i think they saw that i was trying to do the right thing. I like cops like that

Update time

Sooo saturday i went out to a meet to chill for a bit and advertise that my car is for sale. So yes i am looking to sell it but untill then ill just drive it and keep having fun. Drove there and back no issues which is always nice. Got a couple of cool pics too.

Scrapping splitter lol. Dont mind the tires. There just worn down nt01's

Monday came and it was time for the first track day of the year . Was good fun. Ended the day with a pb of 59.7 which i didnt think i would do on these tires but stoked that i did. No issues as well and drove awesome all day. Scary going through the kink at the end of the straight almost hitting limiter in 6th lol

This is a cool pic of the car parked next to me. Was so clean and stock. Like beauty and the beast haha

Only pic i got on track for now.

Will post the video when its uploaded soon

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY! I would quite literally give my left nut for this car. My gf started giving me **** for looking at this thread for so long and called me a stalker. Then she said, "I bet you'd suck a d**k to for that car." Not gonna lie, I had to think about it.

If it were mine and the price was right, I'd sell. I enjoy building as much as driving and if I could actually "make" money on the car and move on (or up) to something else, why not? I've got several friends who have successfully worked their way up by setting a price and sticking to it. Eventually a person comes along that "must" have the car.

Everything goes for more in Australia. We have a buddy that comes to the states a few times a year to ride his motorcycle and do some sight seeing, he asked how much we payed for our 2011 WRX. I told him it came out around 32k. He said holy **** that's cheap, he said one like that would sell for 50k in Australia.

He has a co worker that buys Harley Davidsons in the states and has them shipped to Australia. Buy a Harley here for 15k and sell it for 30k there.

My boss went last year to Brisbane to visit his daughter who is married to a Royale Airforce pilot. He came back and said he wants to move there, I have always wanted to go check it out.

Sorry for the thread jack absolutely badass car though!

I'm actually building a car very similar to yours, however more race oriented.

I dont doubt this at all. At the end of the day i had achieved everything i wanted with the car. Ive learnt many things and met a lot of people throughout. But the main reason was to go back to a more streetable car.

The way the laws are over here its not easy driving something like this around on the streets. It was an awesome car and i dont think ill ever drive anything like it again but its just time to move on.

It will be missed.

One more pic

A shittier way would be if someone bought it and wrote it off.. This way I get what I wanted for it and the car dies with me instead of some guy that car drive.
