Havent updated in a while..

So yesterday was another track day. Got up early and left around 5.15am and drove an hour to the Queensland Raceway. Decided to stop for breaky at maccas 5 minutes down the road. Ate my food and went to the toilet, when i came out i saw two cops at the counted both death staring me . So i walked out side and pretended to be on the phone hoping they would leave.. they did not. So i decided to just walk out to my car and whatever happens happens..

As soon as i unlocked it they walked over stating how low the car is and that it shouldnt be on the road etc. Fortunately they were really cool cops. Both in to cars and both use to race rally cars. Just my luck hey . After a few compliments about how clean the car was he issued me with a $110 fine for the car being under 100mm.

Fortunate because they told me everything they could get me for but decided not to ruin my day and told me to enjoy the trackday and to get a car trailer . So off i went. Got to the track and setup before driver briefing. 1st session like always was slippery but the car felt good. Was running perfectly. 2nd session out on Clubman saw a new pb with a 101.7. Had a moment coming out of the fast left hander going onto the back straight when i went off and the car started to slip out.. So much **** clenching

Heres an incar vid.

As the day got hotter a switch up to the Sprint track was done. After two sessions i was running consistant 58.7 matching my pb's but still wasnt faster. Final session was 3 hot laps and finally got a 58.5. Not much of a pb but its enough for me . After that was passenger laps which was good fun. still running 59.00 with the extra weight

Heres an incar vid on sprint.

Tires were shagged by the end of the day with struggling for grip exiting turn 6 and the first dipper. Im confident with a new set of either RS-3s or stepping up to NT01's will see me in the low 57's - high 56's with more practice.

All in all was an awesome day. In 32*c weather the car ran flawless and water and oil temps never got over 100*c.

Heres a couple of pics

Update:

So decided to go out to lakeside for the last time attack event of the year. I bought some 2nd hand nt01's during the week from a forum member and put them on for this event. First time driving on semis so it was a new experience for me.

Driving out there the weather looked grim. Wasnt feeling great knowing the tires i was on haha :P Thankfully it passed and it turned out to be a great day.

First session out was good. Getting use to the tires, setting pressures and trying to keep out of traffic was the main part. Everything felt good, tires were really grippy and game me a lot of confidence. As the day went on i was slowing getting faster and more consistant with a string of 60.XX which was good to see. Last session was the best though. I was able to hold flat through the kink and almost hitting limiter in 6th just before the braking zone. Back section needs a little work and unfortunately gearing is making me hit limiter just under the bridge so i would like to step back to 4.1's i think.

Overall i had a blast, being in the top group was awesome and following the radical in the last session was too cool Stoked to finish the day with a 60.088. So damn close to 59second mark but ill get there eventually.

Heres a pic on track from Cooper.

Incar vid chasing down that radical before he got the better of me in the final laps :(

Packed the car up and drove it home. Couldnt have wished for a better day

Update:

Went to the drags the other night on the nt01's. best of 12.8 at 114mph With passenger and that was low boost so around 200rwkw.

Pretty shitty launches so with better tires and on high boost I reckon low 12's maybe high 11's is possible depending on how I launch it lol.. Maybe even raise the rear a bit to help get it off the line. It was good fun so definitely want to try it again

heres a pic:

Also a few more pics popped up from the track the other weekend.. I might add, how u see this car on track is how its driven to the track and back as well Just with tools and fuel in the passenger seat

Car looks sick, as always.

Question, on other pics it seems you have a level on the front bumper when you are on track, what is it and what's the purpose? You may have stated this or been asked this already but I am curious.

You may have answered this on CR.net, but is the drag strip a 400m track or an actual quarter mile? 400 M is about 7-8 feet shorter (~2.3m).

Again, kudos for using the car in all sorts of environments: road course, drag strip, street, show, etc.

Very nice build and sexy car. Especially when the wing is removed.

awesome build, and beautiful car. Way to be patient with the setbacks you've had. You've taken the time and done things right -- huge props.

To all you losers who compliment his ride and then don't hit the props button... shame on you! haha this thing is awesome.

Hey mate,
Cheers for the compliments it's always nice too hear what people think. The drag strip is actually a 1/4 mile.

It's funny how I had so many issues for so long and it ended up being the fuel system. I originally bought the flyin miata big fuel kit and installed that and I think because it's a return less setup it was causing the pump to over heat and die. Which is why I've been through two already.

I think it's pretty **** how they sold something without doing proper testing cos of they did, they would have found the exact same issues.

After all that ******* around it was as simple as moving the reg to the engine bay and having a proper return line no issues now

So much hate for that damn wing lol. It actually works but would work a lot better if it was a 2d one.

I was going to recommend you get a NASCAR one off of Ebay like a bunch have been doing, but shipping to upside-down-land will probably cost several limbs.

I'm late to the game here, and you have since changed it, but what was the reasoning behind the looped exhaust before the tip? Tuning back pressure?

I'm gonna go ahead and say this is the most beautiful Miata I've ever seen. One of the most beautiful cars too.
