IIRC when detonation occurs the temperature can be hot enough to turn aluminum to liquid, which then becomes a suitable fuel to mix with any excess O2 increasing the heat more. So perhaps the missing aluminum was partially vaporized.

Aluminum bits have been turned to dust by being pounded between piston and CH for a while. They left through the exhaust valve. After leaving the exhaust valve there is nothing softer than aluminum on its' path until it hits the cat. Any damage to any exhaust valve seats?

In order to put the block back together I'm going to need
full set of rings
rod bearings
main bearings
2 pistons 83.5
Toughest part right now is finding the pistons at a reasonable price.
Hopefully i can have the car up and running by next month.

Parts listed above have been ordered.. I'm thinking I'll have parts this week and by next week the block will be back together (hopefully)
Also swung by and picked up my injectors today.. Got them cleaned for 65$.
cleaned flow force injectors
detonation was def the cause of this engine failure - I remember using launch control moments before i broke down.. not 100% sure if that's what caused it. I've used it several times before at the track and street on the old motor and didnt have issues.

Seems odd to me since I have over 16k boosted miles on mine and they still perform flawlessly. Haven't had them tested though. They have been out and sitting around twice.
Also looks like the before were tested cold and the after tested warm and what do the numbers corelate to?

I was really looking towards the TSE kit.. But looks like the K series is putting together something serious that interests me more ... kmiataturbo
I'll finish this build first and maybe mix and match the smaller and bigger turbo..then e85 and see where i go from there.. future plans are most likely the kmiataturbo that is still in development. I feel like if i had that choice from the beginning i would've done so..
