Crumpled Beer Can (Turbo)
LOL Id like that. If I make it to DFW anytime soon.
I was so scared going into it but now after pulling my first motor since shop in HS almost a decade ago. I feel more confident. I really wanted to rebuild the whole thing but not enough funds. I had 190 comp across the board so I kept it simple to get to the track day. Last track day I missed because of my clutch. I really dont want to miss this one.
Interesting. I may spring for one just to see what it's all about.
This the one i want?

Wow the dropped the price a little. Thats what I got with the 4 psi spring but depending on the turbo the spring rating is unrelated to boost. My 4 psi actually stays at 9 on the wastegate only on the 2560 with porting. Also I have no cat so that has something to do with it too. with ebc it was really consistent compared to the worn out FM one I had.
Right now i'm running a 2554 that has an adjustable wastegate of some kind (at least, or so PO says, i haven't messed with it.) It's hitting 12psi off the wastegate alone. This one looks cooler, offers a potential performance benefit over a 20k mile old one, and may be beneficial when i try to see what 16psi is like on a 2554?
Who knows. Sounds fun though!

Very very comfortable for the price. However a bitch to install and still clear the broom stick text. I had to mount mine on the floor with side mount brackets and use 1/4 inch steel back up plates and cut out the back seat mounts. its in there solid and much stronger than the stock seat but damn it required a BFH and some finessing. Took me alomost as long as the engine rebuild to get it in right(seriously). If I could do it again, Id just go with Kirkeys and fab a mount like Rick's in his Meet Red Build thread. Plus the kirkeys are lighter (not that the forza is considered heavy) which is a plus. My car started as daily nice ac/powersteering car but now dances on the fine line of daily/track toy. It really is up to you any FIA seat is not going to be as comfy as stock seats. It really is personal preference. As sexy as I lok in my pictures I have a 36-28 inch waist so my options are limited. Im the guy with hair in the pics the other guy is SmOky aka Branko. He runs Corbeau A4s and the are nice and you can remove the seat cushion and get way low for the track days.
Well if you notice in my signature I have a 2000 and though i have never sat in another miata seat, I hear my seats are most uncomfortable seats to grace a miata's interior. I may just steer clear of these due to the difficulty installing them. But thank you for your opinion.
A4s are a tight fit in an NB, and really need to be mounted to the floor or the bottom cushion modified/removed.
We have the A4s in our 95 now, and the install was cake with the Corbea brackets/sliders. Sit pretty high, though, i'm sure if i could fit in the car with a helmet on, but i needed sliders as i'm not the only person that drives the car. :(

I was thinking the same thing about rods. At least you got to clean up that terrifying oil pickup tube filter. Holy ****!
I'd like to think I did mine proper lol. How many miles did you put down before the bearing issue?

Well some **** happened today and the issue is back. Didn't even finish breaking in the motor and the bearings are rattling again. I don't know what to do at this point all out of funds and wondering how it happened again. I have good oil pressure and compression. All out of ideas really tired and fed up.
I was wondering if any of those shavings got past the pickup and are now wrecking havoc with everything? Or maybe you needed oversized bearings due to the crank being polished?
Regardless that really sucks to hear.

Ebay H-beams.
Also: I can't easily remove the cushion in our A4s. :(
Was looking at the Forza if it will sit even 1" lower than the A4s on Corbeau sliders/brackets. I just need 1", but i need to be able to keep it sliding, since two people drive this.

Also are ebay H beams really any good? I know that sounds noobish but which ones on ebay are people buying? I see honda guys running them but I also see honda guys running shitty clutches and braggin about them and yet I have burned a few up. Any h beam I get it will be balanced as will the whole assembly. Im thinking about just building this sucker up over time and going slower since Im not gonna make it to the track day(again) :(
Thanks Ben! Just what I needed to know. I plan on getting to 260-280hp at 240-250ish tq. Nonetheless not going to much higher till I get a 6 speed and even then wouldnt want to go over 300.
I picked up these ones for about $220 shipped a couple years ago off ebay. Cat rods was the maker and they came with arp hardware too.
Just make sure you get to the bottom of your issue before just throwing more parts at it.
I've been abusing this engine since it was built and no issues to speak of.
