Agreed that this would be a good thing to work on... But the priority is pretty low at the moment and my sheet metal fab skills are sub-par. So for now, this is going on the backburner.

Since you're also running Abe's manifold, did you end up using a gasket for your turbo between the manifold and housing?
I know most people don't, but when I look at the flange, I'm not too confident that the surface is flat enough to run without a gasket.
I'm not sure if I should remove the studs and have it surfaced.

I had the boost cut set to 160 kpa and it didn't kick in. so yes it was holding my 7psi target quite well. If you look at the actuator rod you can see that there is no room at all to back the actuator preload down any further.
Yep, i still do have the old block that you gave me. If i remember right, you said it had been overheated...? I will take it to a machinist to be checked out.
First step is to find out the full extent of the carnage. I will be digging into the block this week to see if i need to do anything extensive to the head. I hope i can get away with just a short block build. I really cant afford all the head work beyond new valve seals and gaskets.
