I use that orange tape regularly at work. (Airplane mechanic). We call it F4 tape. And yes sticks to itself very permanently cuts very easily with a razor blade. There is also a black version but the orange stuff is supposed to resist higher temps. In case you didn't know, make sure you keep it at room temperature or it will get supper hard and won't stretch.

The gray stuff is much softer and stretches more. It's also a lot stickier and is about $60 a roll. It's made of gypsy tears and unicorn horn. I think I posted a link to it somewhere.

I checked your threads and posts for a little while back before I asked and I couldn't find anything. Maybe I didn't go back far enough.

Vlad, if you still have those NB shocks laying around, I'll buy them from you. My new daily feels like riding a mechanical bull.

Dropped the car off at the paint shop yesterday for HT color-match.
Picking it up tomorrow (hopefully).
Then it's off to alignment, then it's off to tint shop, and then FINALLY I start the go-fast goodies.

I swapped the stock 17's on for paint/alignment just in case they scuffed or scratched anything, and let me tell you - the ride quality differene is drastic. The stock 17's are literally lose/lose. Not good for performance due to weight, and not good for comfort due to sidewall height.

And to think... I once almost purchased a set of MSM Racing Hart takeoffs. We've all learned so much

^srsly. I remember the first time I saw an MSM that had been swapped to 15" wheels and thinking "great, now you've ruined it!"

This is my pet-peeve about MSMs (even more-so that the crippled turbo system, lack of boost gauge or crap ECU), the stock 17" rims are bloody awful for anything except posing/photoshoots.
Some guys love their looks and prefer to stick with them; it's only when they'vehad the chance to drive their car with 15" or 16" rims for a reasonable period of time and switch back to 17" rims that they realise that the 17" rims were just marketing crap.

Picked up the car on wednesday, looks good, couldn't spot a difference in paint at all so that's good. Haven't had a spare moment to even touch the car it's been so busy lately. Going to try to make appointment at tint place today

Pics coming soon

On the verge of catching another cold, so I'm not washing the car this weekend or taking pics.

I did install the wheels back today and couldn't resist throwing on the FM full intake kit.

stock lameness

FM greatness

I must say, very pleased with the power increase, the sound, and overall.

Only thing that bothers me is the uber hot upper rad hose touching the tb inlet and heating it up like crazy. And the AIT is right there so that can't be good.

Trimmed it a little but it still touches. Gotta find a better hose

That's a DIY upper radiator hose, NOT an MSM upper radiator hose, the MSM one has more bends in it and does not touch the FM TBI.

Here's mine when I still had the AEM intake and FM TBI so you can see the difference:

Interesting, thanks for pointing that out. I'm guessing when PO did the maint he switched it out with one from some parts store. Time to get an OEM I guess

Enjoying the car. Such a pleasure driving daily and not having it down for long periods of time. I never want to do that again with any car.

Next on my list of mods: intercooler. Then likely downpipe. Ordered couplers for the intercooler last night, will install this weekend if they come in time.

The car sounds like it has a giant turbo with this FM intake. What I mean by that is - the "turbo" sound is SUPER loud, way louder than on any of my previous cars.
It really sounds good, I'm not complaining, and the turbosmart sounds great too. Just not used to such a tiny little snail making sounds like this.

I also ordered some eclipse vents for the interior, and a harness for a single din Pioneer headunit so I can use the rest of the space for my 3 gauge pod.

Anytime I had monster boost noises coming from the bay it was a boost leak...just sayin'

Also holy god that engine bay has a lot of things in it. Clean as ****, but damn! #screwyoucalifornia.

hahaha yeah, it bothers me too. once ths MS-Pro goes in I think I'll yank like half that stuff out, BECAUSEMS

I don't think it's a leak, it's the sound of the turbo spooling. In a really really cool way. High pitched hiss of the compressor wheel. really mechanical type of sound.
But who knows, even though everything looks solid there might be a leak. after I install the fmic I'll def pressure test the car just in case when I have time.
