with a wrench? my cheap o harbor freight and fancy snap on wrench fits (box end). You have to get it from under the manifold.

No you are running an external wastegate. Do you mean you are running a manual boost controller? If so, is it a bleeder type or one of those ball/spring types?

What do you mean about you only have 1 plug instead of 3? In your TiAL MVS box there is two banjo bolts and 3 plugs.

Ok, I'll go look at a few wrenches today and hopefully find something slimmer.

Yes, sorry, manual controller.

I guess I need to dig further to find the rest of the plugs because I didn't see them last night.

I made a 3 page .pdf from AEM's user guide, see attachment. Page 1 is the same as the TiAL diagram. Page 3 is how you should have run the old setup with the garrett internal gate. EDIT: if you decide to do it simple as in page 3, make sure you use the LOWER ports and leave the upper port(s) open.

The MVS is just like the AEM picture, with an upper and lower chamber. The upper chamber has 2 ports, lower has 3, which ever you want to use is completely up to you.

no problem. I've seen some seriously stable & intelligent (PID) boost control using the page 1/TiAL way of doing it on the Jesel Bonneville truck, using a turbosmart EBC; it's supposedly what is used on multistage boost drag cars, etc. But IMHO the bad thing is that if your solenoid takes a **** or a wire gets snipped/whatever, 0% duty cycle = max boost. Not what you want for a failsafe.

I'm sticking with manual control because I like the way it comes on softly; I have overboost turned on in megasquirt so its safe.

I have crazy compressor surge like a bitch. Time to find a 5 psi spring. **** the bullshit.

It's much faster at 13psi, and .7 AFR point leaner in boost. Looks like it's flowing better once spoked, but no earlier spool.

Yep, I drove it home in the Cambodian monsoon. It wasn't bad though after you choose whether you want to be wet from sweat, or roll the windows down and get dirty rain ater on you.

I have to get the drivetrain ready for the dyno tomorrow after work, and find a blow off valve spring.

Oh, this blow off valve is LOUD. It sounds like a whip cracking more than ricer noises. It's already getting old and I've driven it once.

5psi spring? Tell me how a wg spring is going to help compressor surge.... further proof you have no idea what you are talking about.

It's a softer spring for the blow off valve, dumbfuck handball bottom ------. Don't hate the player, hate yourself because you're going to die a hetero-virgin.

I have an ebay BOV that im not using, it has a spring it. You can have it if you want.

It's probably irrelevant to your needs, but I thought I should offer.

I just put the 9psi spring in the BOV, drunk as hell, and it was pretty easy. Not as easy as landing your mother, but pretty close.

btw, the little o-ring in the bow kinda sucks to install because it keeps falling out. A little honey in a couple spots and it goes in flawlessly.

FYI to anyone installing this stuff...the v-band shave to be tight as ****. I'm talking, 40lb/ft on the clamps or they don't seal. Everything went pretty smooth on the install once I scored an off-set box wrench. It will be put to the efficiency test on Thursday, the mechanical efficacy test on Friday and Saturday at the Hallett, then the reliability test on Sunday when I make the 5-hour return drive home.

I told JohnWag today that spending money on this kit felt the same as sending money to the IRS...I'm so over spending money on cars. Last chance for, romance. Its my...last chance, for love.
