hustler's "driver shame" thread

Are the cover's interchangeable from front to back. Can you swap them. Or do you have a completely different fabbed up deal. ( I don't know anything about a reroute.
Can't you pull the back cover, drill and tape a hole for the sensor and run longer wiring. That shouldn't take long.
Again I know nothing of your setup or what I am doing.
As far as heat issues. No melting or boiling paint, and I have no shields on my car.

5psi, 2nd gear
its still in break in, so no 3rd gear pulls past 4500rpm. AFR is 11.5:1 over 108kpa, no detonation, and the wastegate is backed way off so its doesn't start building boost until 4k rpm.
I still need to work on the fan issue, but its up and running...just in time for me to leave for south texas tomorrow. :(

shitty pics of my hoodride...too bad I don't have a socket/lug combo to put the nickel 6ul's on. I'm happy to have it on the road, now I just need to get it to BEGi to fix a few things. Its somewhat ironic that most of the features of the BEGi kit which persuaded my decision over FM didn't work out. However, I knew going in that with as many changes I made to this car, there would be some fitment issues. Hopefully they'll address those for a reasonable fee, look over my work, then the track beatings will begin.

I'm hearing some type of Anthom in the back ground, she is ALIVE!!!!!!!!!
I never make those break in periods. LOL On My new sportbikes I would ease them for the first 600 miles, I would stair step my self to about 10,500 Rpms, over 600miles.
You can feel the diferance in the motor everytime you get a little higher it is easier to get there next time.
Then when I change the oil at about 550 miles, I worked my way up to about 11,500, slowed down and the temptation is to great, I LAY IT TO THE WIND. ALL THE PONEY'S TO THE GROUND WIDE OPEN TO 13,000 rpms.
I think that is the best way to break a motor in. You feel how free it is getting, and you don't over stress it.
Some of my friends would just hit it wide open on the way out of the lot. They never had any problems either. They claim break it in like you are going to drive it.
None of us ever made it to 1500 miles. LOL
Wheither you go the full mileage or not, IMO, I would stair step it, when you plan to start going full throttle. (Basically work your way up the rpm range)
Well, come to think of it. When I buy a new car, I just lay it to it.
Have fun!!! Out run a Vett for me.

No worries boys.... I'm next in line for the "boost" game. I will follow in typical "Hustler" fashion and take just as long.
Hell, took two years just to get the point of being ready for boost and tracking the hell out of the car.
But, I now don't drive the car daily anymore, so maybe steps will quicken.
Hustler is my Hero....

I had the same problem with mine actually. I think I drilled new holes in the body to line up with the holes in the cool air box. I also found that the distribution block stuck out too far and hit the inlet tube. On mine there was enough material to cut the distribution block in half and drill out new holes for the oil and water lines. Yours may be the same.

I can't scoot the box further forward because it will hit the headlight.
