I just ended up swapping in his shortblock and bolt good things around it. didnt have enough time to pull out the pistons and swap them. it works, runs strong, so whatever. Im beat from pulling and swapping two motors in one weekend.

here's some shots of Neo's pull:

DISH!

That's a 60mm Super 60 T3 wheel on the left, his new wheel on the left. Pretty much going from a T3 based 3060 to a 3071.

I don't know, my mom is pretty baller...

She is 65yo and bought a new Mustang GT convertible.

Grandma can roll.

I'll have logs in a bit, but before I swapped the block I wasn't happy with teh setup. Some of you might remember me even considering a t25 setup. I guess as my block got progressive worse, i got less and less happy. Last log the weekend before the swap I was hitting 12.5psi with an EBC fully closed at 4100RPM. Yesterday I was logging 14.5psi at 3500RPM, MBC only.

I can't believe the transformation the block made. It's funny, before I pulled it, it still made 170psi across the board. But it was obvious from the blow-by and consumption that something was up. Hell, I only drained 3/4qt of oil from the block before swapping...it had just gotten an oil change the month prior and was barely driven.

anyways, discovered the ebay turbo im using has a stainless chra, thats cool too.

Comparison logs...

Here's what I logged yesterday; flat road 4th gear:

and here's the last log in Aug I took before I pretty much parked the car waiting to do the swap:

same street, same gearing, same setup.

Nice work guys!

I have a tip for anyone else who has the same engine load leveler (I have it too).

You can unbolt the chain from the leveler and loop the chain through the factory lift rings, then put the bolt on the leveler through two loops of the chain. This allows the leveler to stay closer to the engine block, which means you don't have to jack your cherry picker up as high. It makes it a lot easier when pulling an engine out by yourself.

Yah, I do the same thing with my level. Or... find lower points and use all 4points of the leveler to nicely balance it straight on.

Bah.. hard to see really... but it does make a solo job alot simpler.
