So, you are doing all this work, full cage and such, and still only expecting mid 300whp? Or has that changed?
Sweet car, just doesn't seem like drag car power. |

Sweet car, just doesn't seem like drag car power. Seeing that it has a chute i assume its aiming for 150+ like me. |
Yeah that's waht was confusing, all the stuff for a 150+ cert, but the only power goal i could find was 320whp, then "a little more" with E85... Just curious.
|
"little more" is 1000whp
|
Should have got a stroker kit to make a 1.75 :)
|
as long as it's not 1.8 or 2.0
:giggle: ..but seriously, it's getting close. |
Well, if he's still using the 5858, it maxes out at 550whp... is that enough for 150mph traps in a 2000pound car?
|
he will break most of his drivetrain well before 140...

The engine bay is pretty. For drag I would have expected a non flared car with wrinkle slicks underneath for reduced aero resistance, but I'm no drag master. It is a nice looking car. |

It is a nice looking car. i believe it has a 6266 on it now..or was it 6262 can't remember but on a 1.65L I doubt it would need the extra exhaust wheel and will probably max out the compressor wheel first in both cases. Either way that's enough for 700+ on most Honda/Evo platforms at big boost, I maxed mine around low 600s becauze of a 2.5 inch downpipe. So if this dude pours in big boost it should be capable of 150 power. |

I guess ive neglected to postin here lol. The car has a 6262 on it. On wastegate pressure (13psi) it made a lil over 300/230 to the tire. Built bottom end with a stock head w/ volvo springs. I want to get used to the car and make it run well with its current power before i turn on the boost controller. Went to track and broke 2 axles, best time to date is 13.2 @ 117mph. I have custom axles arriving on weds so ill be at the track next friday again. Also had car weighed and its 2314 with full fluids and myself.

According to the posts that miata is at 13psi. 13psi on a 1.6 block is what.. 220whp? Seems insanely fast for 13psi.

13psi on a 6262 is a lot. That is not a small turbo. |
Once i get the 11 sec time slip ill be turningon the boost controller with the target boost at 26psi
|
Oh and anyways about the safety comment from above. Being that a miata is a convertible you need a full 10 point cage at 135mph
|
the car is fast. congrats :)
