Ordered a ton of new 1/4 ID hose and Y's T's and reducers for the vac plumbing. Gonna make that pretty.

BTW, why so much heat wrap on the SS oil/water lines? I never had that on my lines, never had problems.

Silicone is for fire retardation, not heat abatement. I wrapped anything that can burn with that stuff because it's cheap insurance, especially near parts that glow yellow.

Under the SS is rubber. Wrap them if you want them to last.

Don't use an impact gun to install/remove the turbine inlet/outlet clamps. You'll destroy the clamp if you do.

Have fun lining all that shit up the first time. It's an ABSURDflow rite of passage :dealwithit:

Get someone to come help you hold things in place the first time that you put on the kit. It will make lining everything up a hell of a lot easier.

You think your down/dump pipe is hard to install...

Christ, tell me about it. But that's only on the first 3, yours, trey's, nick's. Then I found Vibrant's tight R 1.5" bend and they came out with their smooth liner flex, and I also shortened the dump tube. And used vband on the 3" pipe. Life is better on those. ;)

Actually, lining it all up, alone was not so bad. Took about an hour of fiddling - on a car that had never seen this kit before. I needed to trim a piece of bell housing.

The manifold, wastegate, downpipe, dump tube, test pipe are all in place. Only the turbo needs to go on but that should be not so hard.

That is a 800 (110 tender) / 500 (55 helper) spring.

I ASSume that those are 949 Xida dampers? What made you determine your helper/tender setup, and spring rate?

They are not Xidas. Those are basically what AST Holland had before I asked AST USA to help me develop our Xida. Good dampers, a little longer, different pistons and damping curves, no extended rear mounts (bump travel). When someone in Europe contacts AST or on of their dealers there for NA/NB dampers, this is what they ship. Xidas are only available through 949 Racing/SuperMiata.

From the pics it looks like the rears are zero rate tenders with flat wound helpers in front.

Expensive TiAL clamp arrived today, plus exhaust heat wrap.
I can now mate the turbo and proceed.

This. They are based on input from the 'Ring Mazda' who runs 3-ways with externals since 2010. I suppose these have evolved a little since then. No doubt different than XIDA. Also different springs (60mm vs 2.25"/57mm), different top mounts, etc. Shipping and customs (both time and money) is spoiling a lot of fun in getting parts from the US. So glad I found these guys in Berlin. They sent me their 144pg 2013 catalog. Drool.

Yea, that is weird but kinda like a gimmick.

A bit of fiddling today. Figured out which oil/water lines to use (combining H's and mine) and if the turbo would fit. It will, but I might need to put a space between the test pipe and the exhaust as to not pull it forward too much.

Installed the oil inlet, water in/outlet and working on the oil return for which I need to trim some hex bolts. Cleaned up the compressor housing, H, that was a dirty bitch!
