I am not sure I love the hood opening and I am confused by the "keen on dots" graphic.

Is that some sort of play on "Keenon" as a surname? It looks like your old wrap had "KEENONRACING" on the door.

The hood opening is a necessity, not for looks. I'm adding a mesh and looking for something low profile for the edges.

Keenondots = the IT business that I own, we do managed and cloud services.
Keenonracing = organisation that runs the racing activity, non-profit

Impressive. ~8 under SM lap times roughly?

Nice testosterone filled drive. LOL @ Wilhelm yell sound at 1:20.

The AbsurdFlow setup was flawless. The AST set is very nice. Combined I can roll on the power much sooner and much smoother.

This lap on Toyo R888 (semi) is 0.6s faster than my previous best on soft compound Hankook slicks.

I was overheating the R888s after a couple of laps each session and had brake issues: rear fading, ABS crapping out, then adjusting bias to front and having to brake 25m earlier.

More like 9s. And if I get my brakes sorted it should be >10.

This is their home track and their 2:07.x was during a FIA GT3 event. Every year, fastest laps are during and event like that. I think the 1cm of race rubber on the track helps :)

Thanks, you heard brakes locking up there.

How does the current turbo stuff compare to the stuff it replaced? Happy with your purchase?

I'm glad to see it went to someone who is using it properly. I still believes it's the single nicest thing I've ever owned.

Torque comes on smoother which helps corner exit and the sense of acceleration at 135mph is much greater.
So yes, happy - I should've done this earlier ;)

Nice. Good.

Laur3ns 07-27-2013 03:34 PM

So, I'm doing some work on the brakes.

Front: I now run the 11.75 MINI kit with DTC60's. They feel good.
Rear: I had to revert to OEM 1.8 as I was waitnig for parts. Not good.

With the bias turned 'normal' (so a good amount to the rear) I had fade.
With bias turned to front, I had no fade, was locking up fronts, and long(er) braking distance.

My theory here is that the 1.8 OEM has insufficient thermal capacity causing the fade. With the bias turned towards the front, I was relieving the rears from their duty which stopped the fade.

I need to find some Alcon temp strips...

Anyway
- I've read that other see high(er) rear temps than front. Are others seeing fade as well? Given that I returned to OEM sizing made it worse

also,

The ABS light comes on after several laps. Is anyone seeing this? Is this
a) sensor crapping out?
b) sensor overheating (from brakes)?
c) airborne wheels confusing the system and crapping out?

I run OEM 94 ABS, replacing this for NB ABS.

hustler 07-27-2013 06:02 PM

I saw significantly higher rear caliper temps compared to front, but I had good pressure until I was on a cool-down lap.

Get some lower-range temp strips for sensors, in addition to the Alcon stuff.

low fluid?

JasonC SBB 07-28-2013 10:44 AM

Remind me pls, is this with the 0.64 or 0.82 a/r turbine housing?

Low on ABS fluid? No :)
Not on brake fluid either.

Baller .86 A/R

Figured I got the 'wrong' ABS unit from Ebay. To summarize:

NB13-43-7A0 94-97 NA ABS
NB86-43-7A0 99-01 NB1 NB ABS
NO68-43-7A0 01+ NB2 NBFL ABS
I'm gonne get NB2 sensors as well if I can get them cheap, or when I figure out NA sensors won't work - whatever comes first.
