Alright, fuck it. Since its a hopeless dumpster fire, FUCKING FREE!

hi_im_sean 05-15-2018 08:23 PM

Will you deliver?

LittleCarBigFun 05-15-2018 08:24 PM

I could try. Fucking thing won't run

ManiacLachy 05-15-2018 08:26 PM

lol. Walk away, go have a beer, come back tomorrow and you'll get it done in no time. Shit just gets worse when you're worked up and frustrated. Happens to me almost every time I work on the car.

ryansmoneypit 05-15-2018 10:43 PM

Yep, go find something else to do for a little while.

concealer404 05-16-2018 07:57 AM

Oh if it won't run at all, that's not the TPS. It'll start and idle with no TPS signal at all (as you found earlier).

Right, it just won't sense the signal from the tps

concealer404 05-16-2018 08:39 AM

Are we having an actual discussion or are you just parroting what i'm saying without understanding?

Does the car run or not? You said it doesn't. Does it actually run?

LittleCarBigFun 05-16-2018 08:41 AM

My bad, I meant that it'll turn on and idle, but nothing past that. Any throttle that's applied, the car immediately dies

concealer404 05-16-2018 08:45 AM

Gotta be concise, otherwise you don't get anywhere.

Fix your TPS. Once you've got a handle on that, fix your wideband. Then re-evaluate.

LittleCarBigFun 05-16-2018 08:46 AM

I'll probably replace my wideband, and Lars is gonna be awesome and drop ship me a new tps.

concealer404 05-16-2018 09:10 AM

How did you arrive at the conclusion that the TPS is defective?

I would verify that your wideband is broken before you replace it. No offense but you don't seem to have any idea what you're doing, so it's more than likely that you just don't have it hooked up right, or it might be something little like a dead sensor. Throwing $160 at the problem without having an understanding of what is actually wrong doesn't have a great chance of success.

LittleCarBigFun 05-16-2018 09:15 AM

Makes sense, and the wideband has been throwing the E8 error code on and off lately. I'd have to check the wiring again since the shop did it. And the tps had no voltage going to it whatsoever.

Going TO it? As in it isn't being supplied reference power?

LittleCarBigFun 05-16-2018 09:20 AM

The wire that's supplying the voltage is giving off the 5v reading, but I'm not able to get a proper ground with any of the prongs in the tps.

concealer404 05-16-2018 09:23 AM

Got a diagram handy? I didn't look into this much when i did this job the other day. I swapped two wires and went on with my ilfe.

I suspect there's a ground in the wiring going TO the TPS. If so, do you get a good ground through that?

LittleCarBigFun 05-16-2018 09:25 AM

I'll have to check again, but I don't have a diagram. I did switch the wires, but that did nothing, as there was still no signal coming from the tps

Braineack 05-16-2018 09:26 AM

it's the black/green wire.

LittleCarBigFun 05-16-2018 09:28 AM

Oh...I switched the black and red wire...
