Found another whoopsie... I used the 1.8 coolant temp sensor in the rear thermostat housing... Is there any way to use a 1.8 connector and wire it to the harness that way? I REALLY dont want attempt to remove that sensor.. Its in the worst place possible
Also, I can still start the car without having that sensor plugged in right?

Has some lifter tick but hopefully that'll clear up after putting a few miles on it. The motor was sitting around for god only knows how long so its understandable that it is a little loud I guess. Bottom end is quiet though so thats the most important thing haha

Lifter tick is fairly normal. We can do a shim adjustment procedure on your car. Sometimes you can move existing shims around and achieve good tolerances, when I did mine out of 16 total shims I kept 8 and bought 8. I still have my old shims you can have, they just were not the right size for me but are not broken or defective. Cams do have to be removed to do this. Unless your tolerances are way out of line it's not worth it, I just had the whole head apart so I did it.
I run a product called LC20 from LCD inc. in my DD that mixes with the oil and helps remove carbon and keep oxidation down, over 15k miles I was able to clear up a very noisy valve in my civic and have been using it for a total of 40,000 miles. Been contemplating running it in the MX5 also. They have a lot of trucks on their page so I'm sure it can handle turbo temps.

Anyone know what I could do about that coolant temp sensor? Can I somehow wire that to the stock harness?

I believe that the 1.8 sensor is the ECU and temp gauge sensor. Based off this Coolant Temp Sender Question - MX-5 Miata Forum if you put the 1.6 gauge sensor in the head then you should be able to use it as the ECU sensor with some rewiring.

I'll have so take another look tomorrow..
I think I will be able to get the sensor out with a crows foot... I might just switch it out for the 1.6 sensor and call it a day. That'll probably be easier than changing the wiring lol
