The ms3 doesn't power that circuit.

It comes from the main relay.

But I'm not getting errors from any of the other sensors, so why would this be the only one without power? I know MS uses the other sensors to work and it looks like the cam and crank position sensors both get power from there. I doubt my car would be running if they didn't get power so that indicates to me that the 12V signal should be fine, but there's continuity and it's not so color me confused.

I can try to cut out the MAF sensor port and splice into the wire directly and see if that changes anything. Would that make sense?

You still don't get it.

Megasquirt provides the ground. So that continuity matters. You need 12v on the other side. Which has nothing to do with the megasquirt. Figure out why you don't have 12v there.

Why would there still be continuity of it isn't getting current? If the Circuit is broken ie no continuity, then why would other things in the circuit still work?

Where's my misunderstanding here? I have a feeling I'm ******* up something basic.

Dooood, you need your own 12v source to power the solenoid. Try your diagnostic port on top of the left fender well.

Brain's MSes just use the MAF sensor wiriing. MAF get's 12V and he uses the signal line to run the PWM. So RTC should have 12V from stock wiring.

Turns out that I didn't totally fudge up the wiring. Did the I/O tests with some help and the 'blow test' and the EBC works as expected.

However even at 80% duty cycle, I still see only WG pressure so I'm kinda confused.

My plumbing is:

Boost source-> EBC input

EBC output -> T with BOV joining -> EWG

I confirmed both EBC function and voltage. I get V in the 8's between the two two connections in brains instructions. 12V between voltage and ground in the MAF connector, so things are good there.

Jesus dude I really am out. BOV teed in? Your bov needs vacuum to function. You specifically don't want vacuum on the wastegate. Separate ******* circuits.

true, but doesn't matter at WOT and under boost. So this is not the issue.

After this comment I am out too.

You do realize that the point of an MBC/EBC is to interrupt the boost signal to your wastegate can right?

Correct.

It's a temporary measure to get things working. Parts to keep the 'circuits' separate are in order. Ewg has two ports so I can use the second one for the BOV when the parts show up.

This also doesn't explain why I'm not seeing boost pressure over waste gate with things theoretically working as they should.

Im driving the car around for a few minutes every day to test out the EBC and see if anything over waste gate pressure is being generated. I use my DD for everything else...

I didn't realize summer stresses everyone out so much here!

Haha sorry about that. Too many three letter acronyms.

The EWG has two ports which are apparently supposed to be used with EBC. I saw that on DIYs site, but I'm not sure what it entails so I'm not messing with it.

Currently, my boost source is post TB (at IM) which is incorrect. When I get the boost source sorted out (post IC is best right?), the BOV will connect to the IM and the EBC 'circuit' with the ewg will be separate.

Hope that mitigates the stress somewhat!

To be fair, the fact that this car is running well and hasn't exploded yet it's a testament to the info found on this site and the teaching ability of many of the members here. This is my first foray into cars period. It shouldn't surprise anyone that I often have a dumb.

does your turbo not have a port? For now, all you need to use is the bottom port of the EWG and leave the top open, just as it should be plumbed now. so boost source > ebc > lower ewg

BOV should go straight to one of the TB ports.

TL;DR, does your turbo not have a nipple on it for boost source?

edit: dammit, Brain beat me.
