Small update:
I am still waiting on my tax return so I can order the rest of my stuff from Emilio. My returns were accepted on Thursday, so hopefully soon. I ended up ordering new hubs and bearings. Once I got those I got it back on the ground. I think I had forgotten how small a Miata is, it had been on jackstands 2 feet in the air for 4 months. Anyways, I took it to my cousins body shop so I can use his booth. I figured I will get it painted while I wait for my returns. Got some other stuff finished up.
I got my new drain welded in.
Today, still not that great looking like I want:

My attempt 3 years ago (it didn't leak, just looked like ****)

New shiny ****:

Catch can finish and plumbed:

Goodies from Abe that I need to weld:

And this pile of **** sitting on the ground. No engine or transmission in it:

I've been waiting to pull the engine back out so I could run the drain house with a check valve in line somewhere. I wanted to keep it close to the frame rail and out of the way. I just got like 3 feet of the hose to make sure I had enough.

Small update, still waiting on my tax returns! Had a little accident loading the car up to take to my cousins body shop. Gotta thank Justin aka FowlerMotorsports a bunch for getting me a trunk lid, tail lights, and the finish panel for a fantastic price. I got the stuff hammered out and the new parts fitted. Tomorrow I am heading down to get that stuff prepped. Other than taping everything off it is ready for color (white).
I also got the new v band clamp welded on the downpipe and my new turbo drain line made.

Such a great build. Love all your attention to detail! Makes me want to take the time for a complete refresh like rather than just finishing the 1.8 swap + boost to get it back on the road.

Sorry for my mini novel responses every time lol
Is that brazed plumbing pipe? Won't the turbo manifold get hot enough to melt that?
I'm interested in the gorgeous 80's superbike in the background. I wanna say Katana cause those forks look extremely familiar, but I think I see a V on the bodywork.

Not brazed, soldered using the sweating method. So far it's held up before the motor blew up.
That's actually a '89 Yamaha FJ1200. We use the engines in our racecars. My dad went to buy a pair from a guy but decided they were too clean to cannibalize. So he bought the pair, he has one and the other is my moms.

Picture time!

And this came in yesterday from Injoy Carlife, which I am more than pleased with. Very nice quality piece with all the hardware included. Just means I have to buy gauges lol\

The
has my MegaSquirt but he said he will be done modding it shortly, then it's just finishing up the body work and putting it all together. I am getting excited.

The engine is finally finished, done, built, waiting to stick back in the car. I just need to stop dragging my feet with paint body work.
Things left to buy;
SS brake lines
torrent rebuild kit
fluids
passenger seat and harness
vtps
Here are some terrible night time pictures. Excuse my messy shop, I haven't done a "Spring clean up"
