I sealed mine with a chopped up speedo cable grommet thing.

I may be up for the 4th of July. We can do some tunnel pulls.

They certainly are wonderful, sadfab kit is next on my suspension list after I get some softer rear springs, already have 700 fronts just waiting.

Yassss! That'd be too much fun!

I thought about doing that as well but unfortunately I had to use my extra cable on one of my other cars so I don't have any.

Sounds good. I'll try and make it up. Will be cool to see turbo vs v8 side by side.

I wish I was, but I'm hopefully starting a new job in the next couple of weeks and am already planning on going to Tennessee in September to watch the Hawks play. Don't think I will be able to make MRLS happen this year. Definitely planning on attending next year though!

You're in the Officially Unofficial MT.net Miatas at MRLS Meetup thread right?

Worked outside for a tiny bit today, not long cause I got a bunch of **** coming up but this weekend's supposed to be nice so I wanted to fix a couple things.

First up was check what was going on with the rocker cover, looks like the gasket expanded or something after it blew off. Ain't gonna fly, so I'll pick up a new gasket tomorrow.

Next was re-flare one of the flares on my brake lines and put a grommet on it so that it seals the firewall. There were three open areas in my firewall, a brake line was running through one, the starter cables are running through another, and the last one was empty. Filled two of the holes, one left. (giggity)

I also need to finish making my coolant overflow, it fits perfectly where my power steering pump used to go so I ordered some metal to finish that up.

That's not gonna work lol

I've had new oem vc gaskets do that. Maybe not that bad but they'll still do it. If you keep working it back and forth while pushing it in and bunching it up it'll eventually shorten up enough to go in.

I'll give it another shot, I tried pushing it in for a little bit but it didn't seem to want to behave. Luckily they're only like $15 for two new ones.

Put the wavy side in first. Then starting at one of the end indents start pushing it in and towards what has already been installed working out/away from indent. Do that till you reach the indent on the opposite. If it isn't close to fitting by then stop and start going in the opposite direction. Usually it'll fit in about halfway through the second pass. The last 2 or 3 I've done have been this way seems to be worse if they've been torqued down before. Hope my terrible descriptions help.

Drove the car about 20 miles yesterday, had a slight hiccup when my wire on the starter switch came off but that was a quick and easy fix. I had actually noticed it the night before but I forgot to fix it. All the firewall holes are sealed now and then I bled the brakes, no more leaks so that's good. Also I couldn't find what shaved down the backside of my wheel, I checked the springs and I recently painted the inner fender last summer so it'd be easy to see if there was some metal on metal but I have no idea how it shaved like 90% of the back of my wheel

Car ran well yesterday, I drained the oil at the end of the night last night, there was some metal on the magnet but not a crazy amount, last time the magnet was pretty much saturated, this time there was just a bit on the tip. The machine shop said there should be some, so I think (hope?) things are alright. Gonna put new oil in today and hopefully drive it for a while before I switch off of break in oil.

I also got to drive the car with my buddy driving his 240, kinda cool since we've been talking about having these cars done since we were both in highschool. He had a really nice 240 before with a built sr20 in it but it got stolen a couple years back, that's part of the reason he's left it about four different colors. That car's so ******* fast despite its different colors though. Also took the car on the freeway for a mile. I didn't really expect anything else but it did well.
