It also makes sure you put the crank pulley on in the correct orientation

I guess I could install the crank pulley without the pin, but I am lazy and want things correct. I should have a replacement one to me within the next day or two.

I'm pretty sure the only "correct" pulley is an aftermarket one, like ATI damper or 949 one. I feel like pulley shearing with stock damper is inevitable at high hp - much like manifolds cracking.

Torque output is not smooth, it's pulsed. It's like a 300 ft/lbs impact drill...

How much does a lighter flywheel enhance that? Enough that a stock one is significantly more reliable at high hp?

You are correct, unfortunately I do not have the money now to spend on a better pulley.

id say not much since flywheel pushes against cluch which igoes to driveline. not flopping around by itself like crank puley

lighter flywheel still means less centrifugal force on the opposite end were the pump is, no matter if the clutch is engaged or not.

think about the violence that that area of the engine really endures every time you use the clutch.

Car is back together mechanically. Today I will hopefully wash it and then start and go break in the engine.

Depends on the type of dirty.

I will take a picture of how horribly dirty my trunk is when I get home.

I spent all day cleaning my car. Washed her, then clay bar, then polish, and finished with waxing. It was a decent job and looks ok from 10 feet away. I don't ever think she can get clean enough to look good up close.

Tomorrow I button up a few things in the interior and then I start her up, check for leaks, break in the motor.

Looks good man!

Did you feel the **** coming off when you clayed it? Makes a HUGE difference.

Photoshop the jackstands out of the picture, and blur the wheels to look like they're spinning. Then repost the pic as "starting break-in procedure".

Here is a close up of what it looked like when I started yesterday.

This was after the first wash.

This is how it looks at the end. There are still a ton of swirls and such, but I know there is no way I am going to get them all out myself.
