well today I finished all the immediate work I planned.
http://s95367906.onlinehome.us/photo...d/DSC_0697.jpg

- LS2/Truck coils installed, with cave-man 22 gauge sheet-metal bracket. It's crude but very strong
- Coils wired in full sequential
- Injector wiring re-did. No more Injector Dynamics clip thingys. Wired everything straight in
- Changed the CAS pigtail. Old one had a crack in the wire insulation, exposing wires. Most likely cause of sync errors I was having.
- Catch can installed. Sausage line team reporting in!
- Changed valve cover gasket because old one was leaking

Hope I didn't forget anything.

So my turbo no longer has a turbine wheel.

HOLY *******************

Can't wait to see what the haters/lovers/fanbois are going to say.

Good luck man

car still drives great
just N/A and burns oil on acceleration. Compressor wheel spins freely and has a tiny bit of play.

The failure was very uneventful, too. Just POOF and no boost. There was a bit of the rattle in the exhaust (turbine wheel making it's way out ) for the next like 50 miles (I had plans after autox) but I guess it found it's way out.

Faeflora 06-03-2012 04:05 PM

It didnt get stuck in the muffler?

18psi 06-03-2012 04:09 PM

I drove like 70 miles since it fell off. I could hear it ratting around, finding it's way out of the exhaust. I checked the muffler and it's not there.

Wouldn't be surprised if it punctured someone's tires :giggle:

Does the exhaust note sound weird?

Sounds, drives, acts like N/A. Gonna contact Full Race about replacement, because that's an epic fail defect.

I wonder if warranty is transferable, because you did buy the turbo second hand.

wittyworks 06-03-2012 10:05 PM

Yep he bought it from me. I gave him the original receipt and it is still like two weeks until a year passes. I couldn't locate the warranty sheet though, which would have the details about transferring. I can't imagine that he won't be given a replacement. It was clearly a defect if he just made 320 whp on the dyno, and completed a track day and some autox. Hopefully full race steps up and does the right thing.

Faeflora 06-04-2012 02:34 AM

i say that fail, in technical terms

:makeout: I'll start a hotline. 1-800-sexy-efr

Called Full Race. Talked to one of their very sleepy guys (8:30AM in Phoenix). Sent them picture & video. Awaiting response.

I'm sure the the last thing they wanted to hear on monday morning is an unbreakable $1500 turbo breaking (that's still on warranty).
