As simple as they were to draw, I'm still really happy with how these R8 COP seals turned out. Super simple, but considering they cost about $1 to print and have held up for the better part of a year now they seem like a no brainer. These were one of the many things I had our library print, but good point on seeking out other spaces/resources.
sweet. I always get super hesitant about prints and heat. that is just me being paranaoid even if I know the filament is rated for it. I always imagine some outlier condition and absolutely disregard the fact that in the case of that outlier some melted plastic is the least of my worries.
To be fair I was super worried about those melting into the spark plug sockets. Another user on here had done the same thing for his Integra and told me the TPU should hold up and sure enough it has. I still worry about almost any print that ends up in the engine bay.
NA6 pods are on their way to Germany for a testfit. But I am happy with the design
NOW here's what I am really excited about. 7.9" touchscreen, RPI in the back and can run tunerstudio easily. That means you can have gauges, logging and tuning all in one unit. Raspberry dashboards are nothing new. But this lets us package it nicely so we to don't have to sacrifice the radio or gauge cluster.
That pi mount is slick. Especially for a car that still has a stereo. I like the idea of using it for some analog retro style looking gauges for the vitals.
That's super cool. The aspect ratio on that screen is wild but that's a great way to go without having the thing stick way up into the eyeline. Great attention to detail there.

Yeah, to me the intrusiveness of a larger screen outweighed any added benefit over just having this "half screen" and to me the low widescreen will also be more of a stand out thing because to most the 16:9 is the most obvious form factor to use.
That cracks me up. My desk setup is surprisingly similar. Car posters on the wall, a corkboard with calipers and other tools, 3d prints everywhere, mechanical keyboard, etc... I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that people who post on Miata specific forums are similar types of people.
And I secured a bigger garage and a small upgrade for my small family. I'm moving from 280sqft for myself to 1300. I'll both have the car closer to me and more space to work and side projects. Progress will be starting again
280 square feet?! My studio apartment in Manhattan was 435 and that was ... actually it was spacious, but that's by NY standards. 1300 must feel like an airplane hanger! I forget, are you in the Reykjavik area?
Thinking about it, I did just spend a boatload of money on rally driving school. Maybe I should come visit next winter and put some of those skills to the test!
Congrats on getting manufacturing sorted, those look really nice.

Yeah 1300sqft is just my space on the lower floor. means I can set up my 3d printing area, welding area and cf area. Then of course the garage itself. Upper floor will be the family area.
But yes, I am in Reykjavík. I'd be happy to meet up,my club regularly meets up with miata owners from all over the world and either does meet and greet or some drives around the area.
