Thanks!
yeah what ^ he said. but i do appreciate the offer!
down the road ill look into another better option but at this point i just want it running so i can learn the car autocrossing haha
Do the MSM have the same coil packs (and coil pack troubles) as the 99/00 NB1's? I never had coil problems with mine, but switched to COP when doing the turbo installation. If you need good 50,000 mile coil packs and they are the same as the 99/00 cars shoot me a PM.

little weekend update...
new Coil packs came in Saturday, installed them and proceeded to take the car for a drive. it idles better and runs a good bit better as well, still something slightly off on the car BUT the coils drastically improved the car, could just be the gas at this point (its set since Easter and thats still crappy winter blend time in PA haha)
got the laptop set up yesterday to connect and monitor stuff on the Hydra, looking forward to learning more with that and seeing what its capable of.
So far the car has gotten 50 miles on the new motor and as long as there isnt too much rain this week ill drive it as much as i can to get some miles on the rebuild.
also tore into the dash and pulled a couple dummy lights out of the gauge cluster that no longer needed to be there to keep them from flashing at me.
did a little restoration on the plastic cover of the cluster, looked like Armor_All got sprayed on it and never cleaned off and as a result always looked dirty. wet sanding with 1000-3000 grit took care of all that with a light polish to finish the job.
the final product
After that i wanted to start working on a way to clear up a little more room, i started toying with the idea of removing the door handle and seeing what for leg room i could gain. I gained a solid inch of leg room without the door handle and that got me digging on here where i found a writeup where the guy used NA door tops and fabbed up his own door cards with ABS Plastic in his 10AE, i think that will be the next step for me, Id like the added room and i think his actually looks really good as well.

I have three friends all relatively local with experience with Hydras, all three have recommended the same guy for Tuning and next year ill likely take it to him, just too much spent this year on vehicles already to pay for a good tune. ill work little by little on it for now til that point though.

so you guys are far more knowledgable on this platform so ill ask ideas.. the car at half or more in boost and the throttle cuts out a bit. also seems like a complete dog out of boost.
I pulled a log this morning and nothing on there looks too far out of the ordinary (definite room to improve the car but nothing glaringly wrong)
it still seems a bit like a misfire, the new coilpacks helped and it also has new plugs, and Magnacore 8.5mm wires, the wires have about 15k on them. could the wires be bad? i know when it had similar issues with the previous owner, he put new plugs and wires in and it ran fine. im just kinda stumped as to what else it could be, id like to be able to figure it out so i can enjoy the car on the average tune this fall before i have the money to tune it properly next year

i sent the log to the previous owner of the car and he compared it to logs he had when the car was running right. i know the current tune isnt a world beater but i also know it was running pretty well before it spun a bearing and the tune never changed... Im thinking im missing some plug or mixed a vacuum line or the plug wires are shot, i honestly think it something stupid....

first of all, what do you mean plug wires? your car has COPS, and they usually don't go bad often. you're either confused or the previous owner told you some bs.
second of all, if your car is a dog out of boost, and cuts out in boost, your timing might be off. I'd check belt, and I would also check to make sure that your engine timing and hydra timing is matched up. there's a timing offset calibration in MS, no idea what it looks like in hydra, but its gotta be there.
I think being a n00b to the car in general and also starting out with a modded setup and Hydra is a bad combination, and as stated above I think you should have someone that knows what they're doing look at it.
if timing offset is way off you could be running super retarded and start melting stuff from the sky high egt's

well yeah buying such a modded car wasnt exactly the brightest spot in my past but i have it now and im damned determined to figure the ****** out...
yes i know im a noob with the miata platform but im not a complete moron when it comes to vehicles. ill figure the car out, sorry for asking guys on a forum if they knew how to help.
i guess ill just let it sit the rest of the fall til i can afford to pay someone to figure it all out next spring for me...
AND NO my car has 2 Coils and 2 wires, let me grab you a pic of the stock setup....

before i dropped the motor back in i set there with a rachtet rotating the crank to confirm that they ratio was right and they would continually line up...
