Default 1990 Mazda Miata - $1100 OBO -- St. Augustine, FL

NOTICE - THIS IS A CRAIGSLIST AD I FOUND. DO NOT CONTACT ME. CONTACT THE SELLER VIA CRAIGSLIST OR THE NUMBER IN THE AD.

Car looks rough, but it's easily worth a grand in parts (Torsen, turbo crap, seats/harnesses, etc). No idea if it's real, seems like an odd car to scam someone with.

Category: Import
Status: Clean Title

I have a 1990 Mazda Miata for sale, in USA - Florida.

Mileage: 190000 miles
Engine Size: 1.6

Asking price is $1100 OBO

I've finally decided to sell my project miata. Quite simply, the car needs just a little more to be respectable. I'm going to post all of the important things, both good and bad, in that respective order. I don't want anyone to think that this car is ready to go, but realize that this Miata is very _close_ to being finished.

Car info:
1990 Miata 5spd rwd
1.6l turbo
Torsen diff
Body has 190k+ miles, Motor has 80k, turbo has 20 miles, rest of turbo kit has 5k or so.

The Good:
REALLY fun to drive
Car is almost a blank canvas!
t25/t28 turbo, IWG 11lb
[See below for extra turbo parts]
eBay 3" downpipe ---> straight pipe side exit exhaust on both sides w/ square camaro SS tips (aweessomme sounding, not ricey @ all. Sounds like modded SRT4)
Vortec FMU 11:1 diaphram
1.8 injectors
Small front mount I/C (painted black)
HKS BOV (stock off a Talon I believe) recirculated
Boost gauge mounted in A/C vent
I/C sprayer
Roll Bar
Racing Seats (momo)
4 point Corbeau Harnesses (both are red)
New tires (stock rims)
Top is in good condition, no leaks.
Coolant bypass mod

Bad:
No radio, A/C, or PS. Windows are manual. (I like my cars like that, but that is a "bad" for most)
Needs a hood (ghetto cut vents into it b/c of turbo heat, hood is still on but it looks fugly)
Interior is gutted, but I have all the interior parts except the carpeting, Dash, seats, glovebox still in; carpet, sound deadening, radio, A/C, and center console removed.
Right headlight needs motor, light still works though.
Paint is just a "no rust" coat... paint job was flaking, so I sanded it down and primered w/ rustoleum for storage. I HAVE A GALLON OF 1 STAGE URETHANE PAINT that I'll throw in. Just got it.
Motor has blow-by during boost (rings most likely). May need rebuild soon, but the turbo components are perfect.

The car pulls hard under boost

Tranny is fine, clutch slips under heavy boost

Not much lag!

Sounds Great

________I will also give you 3 spare turbos... 2 t25's and a t28. Also have a rebuild kit for a t25 and a bunch of turbo accessories._________________

Runs as is! But needs TLC to make it perfect

I've tried listing everything good and bad. Anything else, just give me a call. I'm just trying to pass my almost-finished project along to the next person who wants a fun machine w/ a lot of potential.

Asking 1100 obo. 904415O219 is my cell.

Thanks!
Kevin

Seriously, you could sell so much of that stuff and end up in negative dollars on your budget.

Don't forget safety items don't go against the cost of the car. Sell the wheels/tires sell the brakes calipers/rotors, and on and on...

I'd go for it but he's in St. Augustine and that's a mighty long way from here.

Hey guys!

You founded my car. Shweet.

Nope it's not a scam. I'm real.

The car is in rough shape, and I know it's worth more than 1100 if parted out. But I'm selling the car because 1) I don't have the money/time to finish my poor lil' ottarr 2) I don't have time to part it out (college and work), and 3) I'm getting a regular ole' clunker for a while, my car passion has to be put on the back burner :( It was a REALLY tough decision to make b/c I've learned a lot with this car and put lots of sweat and blood into it... but I have to study my *** off for the next 2 yrs so the miata will just sit the whole time.

I also have 3 spare turbos, all have leaking seals but no damage to fins, etc. Have a t25/t28 rebuild kit too. The turbos are 2 t25 and 1 t28.

My car was/is really fun. I just can't invest myself in it anymore. I will give anyone from mturbo 2-300 bucks off just because I know I'm not giving it to someone who doesn't realize how rough it is. I just don't want to screw anyone over.

Thanks for posting this over here mgeoff, I appreciate it.

Kevin

Here's way back when I put the turdblower and kit in hahaha I'm realizing how much I really learned by doing all of it myself, etc.

If I had my tax refund yet, I'd think seriously about paypaling you a deposit and flying down there to pick it up. Could use a lot of those parts.
