Not affiliated, but if you want a 1.8 to dink around with, this would be nice.

Thanks, I emailed the guy. If the motor's not blown (he said it's parked due to overheat) AND it's got the Torsen, I'll get it.
MM, ATL
We'll see what happens. The guy probably got flooded with inquiries already.
Even if it needs a motor, I do have a spare 1.8 in the garage. So if he replies to me, my decision hinges on if it has a Torsen or not.

Ha, nope. I haven't even taken the boots off to see how they're attached. Unfortunately, the Torsen hasn't been the number one priority in the car right now...it's still sitting on the garage floor, awaiting a free Saturday.
If it's Laguna and has power windows, then it has Torsen. I doubt it's an M, but if it is, it has a Torsen.
Still no return email or phone call. Probably a no go. Oh well, it was fun anyway.

when you take the boots off, pull them back off the shaft....then clamp the shaft down in a vice, proceede to BFH the heads off....they are attached with only a circlip...exactly as the axle fits into the diff. Pop the ones of the 1.8L axles, and pop the 1.6L back on, refill the boot with grease, reattach boot...there you go....
Ben we can throw that rear in any weekend you're in town.
Prefer to do it early morning though. It gets HOT in the shop.

Seller replied this morning, said he had 100+ responses and believes the car is sold already. I informed him I was ready to move on it if his buyer falls through.
