I have no idea. The whole thing is just ridiculous. The kid probably got scared due to no social skills from sitting in his basement creating memes.

I find it amusing that FNN thinks they squashed this whole ordeal, only to make it much, much worse. Now erybody is making memes/gifs about it.

If that 15yo commits suicide, we know why:

CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski, the reporter currently under fire for threatening to dox the alleged creator of President Donald Trump’s infamous WWE video, once spread false information about a man being a terrorist, after which said man killed himself.

According to a New York Times article from 2013, in April of that year – on the day of the Boston Marathon bombings – a man by the name of Greg Hughes tweeted, “BPD scanner has identified the names. Suspect 1: Mike Mulugeta. Suspect 2: Sunil Tripathi.”

Of course, neither actually turned out to be the bomber in question.

Still – despite the unverified nature of Hughes’ claim – a journalist by the name of Kevin Galliford proceeded to share those names.

The New York Times states that Kaczynski – who was working for BuzzFeed at the time – proceeded to share the information himself, along with the words, “Wow Reddit was right about the missing Brown student per the police scanner. Suspect identified as Sunil Tripathi.”

Kaczynski’s 81,000 followers quickly latched onto the information and it spread, with journalists and civilians alike accepting the Kaczynski-approved Reddit theory that Tripathi – who had been suffering from depression and disappeared a full month before the bombing – was the suspect.

Of course, he wasn’t. But despite the fact that police hadn’t identified Tripathi as a suspect, journalists and civilians alike took the dubious information for truth and began bombarding the Tripathi family with phone calls and messages.By the time the actual bombing suspects were identified, The New York Times reports that Tripathi’s body had been discovered in a river.

The cause of death was suicide.

According to The New York Times, Kaczynski subsequently “deleted his incriminating tweets” and carried on like normal, writing a post-mortem of the incident for BuzzFeed that contained no mention of his involvement in spreading the falsehood about Tripathi.

As Mike Cernovich puts it, “Kaczynski did not merely spread minor fake news. He ruined a young man’s life by falsely accusing him of a horrific act of terrorism.”

According to The Washington Examiner, the White House’s statement – written by Vice Chair of the Presidential Advisory Commission On Election Integrity Kris Kobach – however, reads, “while there are news reports that 44 states have ‘refused’ to provide voter information to the commission, these reports are patently false, more ‘fake news.'”

The statement continues, “at present, only 14 states and the District of Columbia have refused the Commission’s request for publicly available voter information. Despite media distortions and obstruction by a handful of state politicians, this bipartisan commission on election integrity will continue its work to gather the facts through public records requests to ensure the integrity of each American’s vote because the public has a right to know.”

This is at least the second time in two days CNN has been caught spreading falsehoods.

Joe, the real answer as to why one would not want to have their identity revealed has to do with the propensity of the left to drag people out of their cars, beat them, burn down their homes, wreck their chances for employment, and other fun and exciting free speech type things.

For about 20 minutes Tuesday, NPR traveled back to 1776.

To echo its 29-year on-air tradition, the public radio network’s main Twitter account tweeted out the Declaration of Independence, line by line.

There — in 113 consecutive posts, in 140-character increments — was the text of the treasured founding document of the United States, from its soaring opening to its searing indictments of King George III’s “absolute tyranny” to its very last signature.

Who could have taken issue with such a patriotic exercise, done in honor of the nation’s birthday?

Quite a few people, it turned out.

Perhaps it was the Founding Fathers’ capitalization of random words or the sentence fragments into which some of the Declaration’s most recognizable lines were broken. But plenty of Twitter users reacted angrily to the thread, accusing NPR of spamming them — or, worse, trying to push an agenda.

“Seriously, this is the dumbest idea I have ever seen on twitter,” a Twitter user named Darren Mills said after NPR had only gotten as far as the Declaration’s dateline. “Literally no one is going to read 5000 tweets about this trash.”

One user wondered if NPR’s social-media accounts had been hacked, and the network lost at least one follower who called the tweets “spam.”

The blowback increased when the tweets reached the portion of the Declaration that outlined, in unsparing detail, all the ways Britain’s George III had wronged the then-Colonies.

“He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers,” read one line of the document.

“A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people,” read another.

Some people — presumably still in the dark about NPR’s Fourth of July exercise — assumed those lines were references to President Trump and the current administration



“Propaganda is that all you know how? Try supporting a man who wants to do something about the Injustice in this country #drainingtheswamp,” tweeted one user whose account has since been deleted but whose messages were captured by Winnipeg Free Press reporter Melissa Martin.



Upworthy writer Parker Molloy took images of several more indignant replies to NPR, including one who told the media organization to “Please stop. This is not the right place.”



By Wednesday morning, many of the replies above had been deleted. However, at least one Twitter user admitted he had “screwed up” and apologized to NPR.



The Declaration of Independence is, of course, one of the country's most important documents, adopted at the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. The text and purpose of the Declaration would likely be recognizable to those who have applied for U.S. citizenship, since questions about the document appear on the naturalization test. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has an extensive list of study materials and other Declaration-related resources for prospective citizens.

NPR’s “Morning Edition” has had a nearly three-decade-long tradition of broadcasting a reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 4 each year. More than two dozen NPR journalists participated in this year's reading, including “Morning Edition” co-host Steve Inskeep, “All Things Considered” hosts Audie Cornish and NPR national political correspondent Mara Liasson.

It is “a document from a deeply divided time,” broadcaster Mary Louise Kelly noted in the reading. “It was a time when Americans turned against each other.”

The Twitter exercise this year was a way to include additional people in that tradition, NPR spokeswoman Isabel Lara told The Washington Post in an email statement.

“This year we mirrored that tradition on Twitter as a way to extend to social media what we do on the air,” Lara wrote. “The tweets were shared by thousands of people and generated a lively conversation.”

Here is the full text of the Declaration of Independence:

In Congress, July 4, 1776.

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

thanks CNN for objectively letting me know that Trump only represents "White America" -- way to dig up the hard facts to find that one out.


According to CNN White House Correspondent Jeff Zeleny, President Donald Trump’s address in Poland was a “white America, America First kind of speech” that “sort of a throwback speech.”

As The Washington Free Beacon reports, Trump’s speech in Warsaw on Thursday “focused on themes of the collective inheritance and protection of Western civilization.”

“The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive,” President Trump said during the speech. “Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?”

Prediction: if CNN covers this story (assuming they actually report news), the headline will read: Violent Trump supporter tries to assassinate democratic leaders.

A Nebraska man was reportedly arrested after making threats Iowa Republican Senator Joni Ernst.

According to Breaking911, the FBI arrested 64-year-old Robert William Simet after he threatened to kill Ernst at a charity motorcycle event.

The Washington Times quotes FBI special agent Jonathan Robitaille as stating that Simet told employees at a Harley-Davidson dealership in Pacific Junction, Iowa that “everybody in government needs to be killed off.”

CNN: hold my beer.

That’s apparently all of little consequence to CNN, which chose to make the violence a mere footnote in its article on the protests.

“An eclectic and international mix of demonstrators peacefully tramped through the streets of Hamburg on Saturday, a show of anti-capitalist muscle in earshot of the world’s top leaders who were finishing up at the G20 summit,” the outlet’s piece states.

without a shred of evidence, the Washington Post is trying to suggest that the Alexandria shooter was motivated by the violent far-right...to shoot and kill the violent far-right.
