I see a substantial difference.

jared8783 02-05-2012 03:54 PM

i dont necessarily agree that there is no significant difference

i just thought it would be an interesting post

gearhead_318 02-05-2012 04:00 PM

It's interesting for sure, but the amounts given are vastly different, which is what brain was commenting on I believe.

Bread and rolls are the No. 1 source of salt in the American diet, accounting for more than twice as much sodium as salty junk food like potato chips.

That surprising finding comes in a government report released Tuesday that includes a list of the top 10 sources of sodium. Salty snacks actually came in at the bottom of the list compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Just was watching Obama's speech on this Mortgage settlement and underwater homeowner bill. I'm so full or rage right now.

"I bought too much home - who will pay my mortgage for me?"

jared8783 02-09-2012 05:23 PM

on the healthy diet thing

i am VERY BIG on eating properly
our schools do an extremely poor job of teaching us such things

im not going to say anything about the balanced diet thing
what gets me is all the stuff we eat today that could hardly be considered food
studies have shown many many many diseases to be linked to un-natural processed foods
for example MSG is known to be a fertilizer for cancer
MSG is extremely common
if you dont know about MSG or dont look out for it
chances are that you consume it on a daily basis

i don't remember learning anything like that in school

Braineack 02-09-2012 07:34 PM

apparently. I still don't understand how this bill/program/thing will help anyone but the lawmakers that get to saay they helped get it passed and looked good on tv for helping America...

An idea whose time has come.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.

Many citizens have no idea that members of Congress can retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws.

The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

This is one proposal that really should be passed around:

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to all the citizens of the United States."

Now, what are we going to do about it? Read and forget or work for reform? Send it to EVERY Congressman, Representative, Governor, the White House!!!!! Pass it around!!! Make calls, send fax's!

I can't wait to see all the bastards laughing it up 5 years from now when they're above water again with free money in their pockets or off their principal.

People bought property... The market went down... Too bad, so sad, deal with it. I'm sorry that they were on the 3-5 year plan and thought they could become rich by climbing the way up the home flipper ladder. I don't have much sympathy for the people who overpaid for houses in the past few years. That's investing...buying a home is an investment AFTER it's a permanently fixed primary ------- residence. Opinions may vary, but that's the facts.

No one's shoving money into our 401k's because the markets tanked.

Err, I agree with the general content in your post, but this is completely new to me.

(D) Members of congress in the exchange.--
(i) Requirement.--Notwithstanding any other
provision of law, after the effective date of this
subtitle, the only health plans that the Federal
Government may make available to Members of
Congress and congressional staff with respect to
their service as a Member of Congress or
congressional staff shall be health plans that
are--
(I) created under this Act (or an
amendment made by this Act); or
(II) offered through an Exchange
established under this Act (or an
amendment made by this Act).
(ii) Definitions.--In this section:
(I) Member of congress.--The term
``Member of Congress'' means any member
of the House of Representatives or the
Senate.
(II) Congressional staff.--The term
``congressional staff'' means all full-
time and part-time employees employed by
the official office of a Member of
Congress, whether in Washington, DC or
outside of Washington, DC.
To put it in shortened form, Obamacare will kick Congress out of the standard Congress-specific plan and force them onto an exchange full of normal people. I've seen nothing in the news, nor any legislation that contradicts or otherwise repeals this provision, nor any legislation that amends this provision. Where did you get this from, Olderguy?

olderguy 02-10-2012 08:33 AM

My Bad. I listened to all the hype and didn't check other sources on this one.
