It's true that Starbucks has been covering dickoffame and addadicktome surgical procedures as part of its employee health plan since 2012, however they use the politically correct term "gender confirmation" rather than "gender reassignment."

Am I the only one who thinks the Olympic gymnast, Simone Biles, just flat out choked and is not in fact, as seemingly everyone else on the planet would suggest, a brave hero because of it?
I've always thought that dealing with the mental strain of competing is in fact part of the competition. Is this indicative of modern snowflake competition? Will there be "Bravest Participant" medals now at the award ceremonies? For **** sake, if you're going to go around with a goat emoji on your social media then you better damn well be able to back it up, otherwise STFU !

But let girls be Navy Seal, amIright? I did not ring the bell, but now that Seal Team X is counting on me... I'm just not feeling it.
As the father of (4) girls that were gymnasts, one for UofA, and who now owns a gym, I am personally disappointed in Simone. I have not spoken with said daughter yet.

EDIT: see post 3539, with my daughter's comments. Simone did the right thing. And of course, she is the GOAT, that was never in question.

You're disappointed in her because she admitted she was getting the twisties and bowed out so she didn't wind up paralyzed.
"Never mind that long before the opening ceremonies in Tokyo, Biles had proven herself to be arguably the greatest female gymnast of all time, with a combined totalof 30 Olympic and World Championship medals to her name. If she had retired long before this week, she would still be considered one of the greatest athletes to ever live — and one who had earned more respect and honor, and brought more glory to her country than any of the people criticizing her."
She won nationals with broken toes, won world championships with kidney stones, and has to bear the weight of being the face of the sexual assaults that ran through Team USA.
But sure, she's a coward, an embarrassment, and weak.
Tell us, how many Olympic Gold medals do you and your 4 gymnasts have?

For the record, I have zero argument that she is currently the most amazing gymnast alive, but the fact is, she choked when it came to this competition. I don't give a rat's *** why she did; the simple fact is that SHE DID. I fully expect that she could go on to win many more competitions in her remaining career (as long as she doesn't choke at them). What I have a problem with is the exaltation of her choking being its labeled as a brave and heroic act.

My daughter had this to say:
"Gymnasts tend to call it “the twisties” and I think aerial confusion may be a better explanation than mental block or balking or fear. Simone does so many different numbers of twists in different positions with different numbers of twists from a different takeoff positions and landing direction on every event it is beyond amazing that her brain can distinguish. She gets “lost” one time and needs to go back to some basics with a pit to figure it back out, but there is no time or place for that, and it leaves her stuck. And she has so much variety of flipping and twisting that there is not an event she can do without some space and time to figure it back out."
So, Simone's bowing out was the right thing.
Now I will say that a press conference by the coach, as quickly as possible, might have been quite helpful.
