What with this being pride month, the phrases "rainbow mafia" and "alphabet mafia" are getting tossed around quite a bit, mostly by the pronoun people.

That's incredibly demeaning, as it perpetuates negative stereotypes about Italian-Americans.

 

They still sell Spic and Span. I would think that was more offensive to you, personally.

 

There is no such thing as a mafia. They are just legitimate businessmen who happen to receive unfair scrutiny from law enforcement due to their ethnicity.

 

My former boss was a former cop. They had a Halloween party at our HQ, and he got really offended by someone dressing up a a pimp.

I truly have sympathy for those in a managerial capacity working in industries which attract job-applicants* of this type. We have one dude in the engineering department, hired by my local successor after I moved up to director level, who is adjacent to this.

Shitty tats, big earrings, weak facial hair, hygiene problem... I already have that ******* on security camera stealing a brand new $13,000 video camera off the shelf outside my office, but the union lawyer has him stating that he was just trying to learn about it, since it's the same model as in all the studios he's responsible for supporting, and that someone else took it of his workbench down in the shop without his knowledge.

Needless to say, there are now two cameras in the maintenance shop. The union has already filed a grievance. I have already told my counsel precisely how far up their urethra I am willing to shove this matter. (She and I have that kind of business relationship, where it's ok for me to say **** like that and not fear an HR situation.)

I am also very slowly working on ending that guy's career in this industry. You do not steal from me, in my own house, and get away with it. I'm playing the long game, not letting him know that I know, not showing my hand too soon. It's gonna hit him harder than @hustler's Mom's *****.
