I debated whether to post this here, or in the general Politics thread. I decided that it's most likely reflective of a shift in the leadership of PETA, to wit; a new generation of leadership. (Because, in all seriousness, the PETA I grew up with was annoying, but not literally insane.)

PETA Says Milk is a ‘Symbol of White Supremacy’
By Ian Miles Cheong | 5:19 pm, March 31, 2017

PETA’s shenanigans vary from the absurd to the downright offensive. From likening rape survivors to pigs and cows, to calling Pokémon a form of animal cruelty, PETA’s efforts to “save the animals” always make the headlines—and with good reason: they’re completely absurd.

The animal rights group today released a new video to cry over milk, equating the nutritious drink with Nazism. Following the rise in Trump Derangement Syndrome and the progressive left’s hysteria over white supremacism, PETA states:

“Did you know that milk has long been a symbol used by white supremacists?”

It’s an alternative fact accompanied by an equally ludicrous video, which they published on social media. They call milk the neo-**** drink of choice, stating that it has “long been” a symbol used by white supremacist groups as a “thinly veiled allegory for racial purity.”

To back up the statement, they even say it played a “prominent role” in the Jordan Peele race comedy, Get Out, with quotes from the director.

It’s followed by some secretly-captured (and horrifying) footage of cows being manhandled and abused by factory farm workers, so viewer discretion is advised.

So how did the association of white supremacism to milk even come about? Perhaps the answer lies in Inglourious Basterds’ Hans Landa’s love of delicious milk.

You know, I've always wondered if the 'Got Milk?' ad campaign was really just pushing forward the alt-rights white supremacy ideology. Man, Bannon is really a genius!

What about the oreo adds that dips them in milk? Is that a subliminal message of ruining racial purity.

Good lord...

Don't get me started on oreos... They represent how black people in the US are forced to internalize whiteness in order to be accepted by society.

Marvel VP of Sales blames diversity for falling comic book sales | The Independent

Well, Marvel VP of Sales, David Gabriel, spoke about what they believe could possibly lead to the decline, putting the blame on diversity.

“What we heard was that people didn’t want any more diversity,” Gabriel told ICv2 at the Marvel Retailer summit. “They didn’t want female characters out there. That’s what we heard, whether we believe that or not.”

H continued: “I don’t know that that’s really true, but that’s what we saw in sales. We saw the sales of any character that was diverse, any character that was new, our female characters, anything that was not a core Marvel character, people were turning their nose up against.

fun with facts:

In the United States, approximately three fourths of African-Americans have the potential for symptoms of lactose intolerance because lactose digestion depends on the presence of the enzyme lactase-phlorizin hydrolase which is reduced by up to 90-95% in individuals with lactase nonpersistence.

My kind of coffee shop! Where shooting people you disagree with in the head is encouraged. Nothing says, I I'm a peace-loving, tolerant, fascist hating, socialist cup-o-joe drinking liberal like supporting murder, intolerance, fascism and CAPITALISM!!!!

Coffee shop loyalty card shows hole-punch through Trump's head | Fox News

A Pennsylvania coffee shop is brewing up controversy with its loyalty card.

The front of the card has the typical 10-count with its logo to punch, but on the back - pictures of 10 people management does not like: Donald Trump, Rick Santorum, Ann Coulter, Mike Pence, Martin Shkreli, Pat Robertson, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz.

Black Forge Coffeehouse co-owner Nick Miller says the cards are designed to look like a shot in the head when the card is punched.

personally, id punch my own holes and get lots of free coffee...

Patriotism and nationalism are nowhere near the same thing.

I said it was evidence of children being used for propaganda, not an attack. Calling that kids drawing an attack is pretty hilarious. Kids emulate what they see and hear. Given what's been on the news that shouldn't surprise anyone that knows anything about development. It is definitely much more fun to think of it as a conspiracy though I guess.

how to liberal:

When Ziad Ahmed was asked "What matters to you, and why?" on his Stanford University application, only one thing came to mind: #BlackLivesMatter.

So for his answer, Ahmed — who is a senior at Princeton Day School in Princeton, New Jersey — wrote #BlackLivesMatter exactly 100 times. The risky decision paid off. On Friday, Ahmed received his acceptance letter from Stanford.

"I was actually stunned when I opened the update and saw that I was admitted," Ahmed said in an email. "I didn't think I would get admitted to Stanford at all, but it's quite refreshing to see that they view my unapologetic activism as an asset rather than a liability."

On Saturday, Ahmed posted his answer and acceptance letter on Twitter with the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter. The tweet now has over 700 retweets and over 2,000 likes. It has also been retweeted by members of Campaign Zero, a police reform campaign, and some of its founders, Brittany Packnett and Samuel Sinyangwe.
shows you how important reasoning and supporting your argument is, even in Ivy league school...
