Disabled man killed in movie theater by police had inexplicable throat injury | Police State USA

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1378390696

FREDERICK, MD — New details have emerged of the death of a mentally handicapped man, killed inside a movie theater in January while wearing police handcuffs. The official cause of death was asphyxiation, and an autopsy has revealed that the man suffered a peculiar injury — fractured throat cartilage — which one expert says could only have been caused by force of some kind. Force, which could have included a direct blow or manual strangulation. The officers still remain on the force, and many questions remain...

...

She warned police that he could not handle being touched and would “freak out.”

Police ignored the aide’s request and began to get physical wth Saylor in order to place him in handcuffs. They wrestled with him as he writhed in pain and mental discomfort.

Several people heard the officers tell Saylor that he was going to jail, reported the Washington Post.

During the confrontation, 3 deputies fell into a heap on top of Saylor on an inclined ramp. The deputies placed three sets of handcuffs on him, and was laid face down for several minutes. Saylor suddenly grew quiet and unresponsive, prompting the deputies to perform CPR.

Tennessee to roll out "No Refusal" blood-draw DUI checkpoints for Labor Day | Police State USA

TENNESSEE — Labor Day: another holiday, another excuse to push the limits of the police power over citizens. All across the state, Tennessee police will be performing another round of highly-publicized “no refusal” blood-draw DUI checkpoints this weekend. With police armed with a 2012 law that allows them to forcibly extract blood from drivers, its a bad time to be a citizen who does not consent to searches.

BSO deputy instigated wrongful arrest months after confrontation, lawsuit says - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com

Enser's U-Haul truck was blocking another customer's vehicle and Means asked him to leave the property.

Enser responded with: "F--- off. I'm a cop," and flashed his badge.

In disbelief that Enser was truly a cop, Means told him he was going to call "the real police." He leaned into the truck and took the keys from the ignition to prevent Enser from leaving.

When Coral Springs police arrived and interviewed all the involved parties, Enser said he didn't wish to pursue prosecution against Means for removing the keys from the truck and left.

McGee said his client was stunned when three months later, on Feb. 10, 2011, Deputy Joo showed up at his Margate home and arrested him on a felony charge of burglary of a conveyance and misdemeanor charges of petit theft and resisting an officer.

Means said that while he was being "interrogated" at BSO's Tamarac district office, Enser appeared in full uniform, pointed at Means and said: "I told you I would get you, m-----------."

Means was taken to the Broward Main Jail where he was booked, fingerprinted, underwent a body search and had his mug shot taken.

Fifteen months after Means' arrest, on May 14, 2012, state prosecutors dropped the charges after taking a sworn statement from Julie Guagliardi, the mother who Enser had confronted in the parking lot.

...

As a result of the arrest, Means lost his job and was unemployed for over a year, according to the lawsuit. He is demanding a jury trial and seeking unspecified damages for "loss of liberty, lost wages, damages to his reputation and community standing, humiliation, loss of time, and incurred attorneys' fees and costs," the lawsuit says.

Gold miners near Chicken, Alaska, cry foul over 'heavy-handed' EPA raids | Alaska Dispatch

When agents with the Alaska Environmental Crimes Task Force surged out of the wilderness around the remote community of Chicken wearing body armor and jackets emblazoned with POLICE in big, bold letters, local placer miners didn’t quite know what to think.

Did it really take eight armed men and a squad-size display of paramilitary force to check for dirty water? Some of the miners, who run small businesses, say they felt intimidated.

...

The officers were armed and wearing body armor. They were part of the Alaska Environmental Crimes Task Force and were there to check for violations of section 404 of the Clean Water Act, according to several miners who were contacted by the group. Section 404 governs water discharges into rivers, streams, lakes and oceans.

The man was handcuffed, and completely defenseless. He could have been murdered, it was that bad. Originally, it was denied that this even happened, but now we know the truth. Perhaps in part because It’s taken two years and almost eight months for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to release this video. The assault occurred on New Year’s Eve, right before midnight, on Dec. 31, 2010. A very persistent family member of one of the victims finally persuaded them to give the video to her. A determined advocate for justice for prisoners, Rev. Kenneth Glasgow, posted it to YouTube.

Police: DeKalb officer shot teen skipping school | www.ajc.com

The person shot by a DeKalb County police officer Tuesday morning was a 16-year-old Southwest DeKalb High School student skipping school, not a would-be burglar as initially believed, police said.
DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander said Wednesday the shooting was an “unintentional misfire.”

“It has been revealed to us that the subject shot by one our DeKalb police officers was not associated with the burglary on Streamside Court,” Alexander said. “He was truant from school and began running when he saw police officers in the area.”

The teen was shot in the right arm and was in stable condition at a local hospital, police said.

To summarize the encounter:
1. I was threatened...
2. I was assaulted...
3. Abused...
4. held up to ridicule in front of the public...
5. ordered to sit on the ground
6. and falsely detained by an angry ignorant person with too much power...
7. Deprived of my liberty and constitutional rights...

All I set out to do tonight was to take photos as I always do, return home, and kiss my little girl goodby for the winter. I did not plan on being the victim of an assault.

From what I've observed, Officer Allen is not fit for the role of police officer in the Town of Barnstable.
Tonight was nothing more than an attempt to intimidate and discourage HyannisNews.com from growing and reporting the truth.

Hyannis News will provide updates to this unfortunate series of events after I have rested.

P.S. Sorry, there will be no music video on this piece... this was not a happy day, nor was it some sort of victory... it was a lose-lose situation and it breaks my heart.

Man with rifle wounded in faceoff with Edmonds police | Local News | The Seattle Times

A 27-year-old Edmonds man who was shot by police after a verbal confrontation was in serious condition Saturday at Harborview Medical Center.

The two Edmonds police officers involved in the incident were not injured.

Police spokesman Aaron Snell said the man had been walking along a street near Edmonds Elementary School carrying a rifle. His behavior prompted two 911 calls from nearby residents — the first coming in around 7:30 a.m., Snell said.

He said officers don’t know of a motive for the man’s actions. “We don’t believe he was aiming or shooting the weapon,” Snell said.

The Edmonds officers who responded to the 911 calls issued verbal commands to the man, then fired at him, Snell said.

Snell did not say where the man was wounded or how many times he had been shot. The shooting, which occurred near the 1200 block of Puget Drive, is being investigated by the Snohomish County Multi-Agency Response Team.

The two officers are a sergeant and a corporal with 15 years’ and 14 years’ experience on the Edmonds police force. Both have been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.

California Cops Gun Down Unarmed Meth Dealer | StoptheDrugWar.org

Undercover police in Sunnyvale, California, shot and killed an unarmed alleged methamphetamine dealer last Wednesday afternoon. Juan Ruelas, 34, becomes the 27th person to die in US domestic drug law enforcement operations so far this year.

...

Police set up another buy Wednesday afternoon at a Hobee's restaurant in Sunnyvale, and an undercover officer had just purchased a pound of meth from him when the shooting occurred.

Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Captain Dave Pitts said that after the deal went down, Ruelas suddenly threatened the officer and said he had a gun. Then, Pitts said, Ruelas "made a movement that led the officer to believe he was reaching for a gun." No fewer than six officers on the scene then opened on fire on Ruelas, mortally wounding him. He died later the same day in a local hospital.

No gun was found.
