Will that trend reverse already? Not that I'm a fan of the car, but ugh.

I don't like.
I do like the '10 to current...I'd own 1. I'm still not a fan of OHC in a V8 though...

Meeners 12-06-2013 10:36 AM

I think it's an improvement.

mgeoffriau 12-06-2013 10:37 AM

Greenhouse/roofline looks like Accord Coupe.

18psi 12-06-2013 10:37 AM

So far, I like it.

Yeah, i don't like progress and clear technology improvements, either.

I hate to say it but the rear quarter/trunk reminds me of one of those terrible Monte Carlos. Overall I like it though.

300hp turbo 4 cylinder.

Ford dissects the heart of the 2015 Mustang, its engine range - Autoblog

Yes please.

Big up's to Ford, i've been seeing a ton of these driving around in camo. My dad says he has one where he works, in Dearborn... Getting an "upgrade".

Braineack 12-06-2013 11:52 AM

I figured they were trying to make it look more like a BRZ/Genesis to compete.

I generally like the design, but I HATE the rear. It's got a really ugly ass.

Finally a decent interior however.

Will that trend reverse already?
This will require repeal of certain safety standard laws...

Fireindc 12-06-2013 11:54 AM

-400 lbs, 400+hp, IRS. I like it. Looks are pretty good too, though I agree the rear end kills it.

rleete 12-06-2013 12:24 PM

I like it. Unlike the Camaro, which looks squashed.

Glass is heavy. So, smaller windows means lighter. Also, smaller openings is better from the structural engineering point of view. Add to the fact that glass is not getting much cheaper. The only way to cut cost is by using smaller panels.

Remember, cutting $.50 per car is a huge savings to car companies. That can pay the salary of an engineer to further cut costs.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 12-06-2013 12:27 PM

Its whatever. I didnt by my '11 Mustang because of what it looks like.

Im interested in the 4 cylinder turbo version of the '15. If the price is right I would trade in my 5.0 for the boost.

EDIT:

Finally, the transmissions have received some attention, with the six-speed manual from Getrag getting a new shift linkage, which should provide a shorter, crisper action.
Sweet bay jesus. I hope this part will be compatible with the 11-14 cars.

It is gaining weight, not losing it. It is a disappointment in every way to me.

Rumored to be in the neighborhood of 3300 pounds. It has lost significant weight from previous generations according to that. Not 400 pounds, but still significant. We will see what it ACTUALLY weighs.

I hadn't noticed the slab-sidedness before but I don't think it's near as bad as the Camaro or challenger. Still prefer the glass-to-body ratio of the current gen though, but everything else on the new car is better.

I'd drive it. Give me the V8 though, I don't want the turbo-4. It'll claim high MPG and get low MPG.

I might not love the styling of the rear of the 'Vette but what an awesome car. Really. Just incredible. Do want.

G.

I just read Edmunds and they claim it will add weight. It is no smaller than the current car and the only weight saving they announced was aluminum fenders instead of steel.
I still think it is ridiculously ugly, so whatever.

18psi 12-06-2013 09:37 PM

everywhere I read says it will lose weight.

turbofan 12-07-2013 01:27 PM

^yup

not even close.

I would say it looks more like the '69 mustang rear end coupled with the existing. saying that im looking at the rear 1/4 window and rear 1/4.
