You're just looking at the past through rose-colored glasses my friend. Things are better in the automotive landscape than they ever have been. Some of the styling may not be excellent, but they are not horrible by any means.

There have been some rumors that we may see Boss numbers from the new Coyote, which is impressive since its using the normal intake manifold. If this is true, the Boss manifold and longtubes may bring this engine up around 500whp. Here is to hoping.

Even if they don't manage to lose weight but just hold steady, the car will be extremely potent. The previous car outperformed a stock M3 around VIR in C/D's Lightning Lap (2011 vs. 2011). With IRS, a hugely improved interior and a little more power at the same weight the thing will be awesome. Even the new 'vette is over 3400 pounds, so if this thing holds steady at 3500-3600 it won't be bad at all.

So no one is talking about the burnout button / line lock this will have?

I can't wait to see some cars with 2 miles on them and a paper plate doing standing burnouts down michigan ave and woodward. :party:

To be fair, at least the 90s n/a subaru scoops actually let air into the engine bay somewhat. I know for a fact that the mustangs, etc. around the same era had scoop looking things with plastic blockoffs that didn't actually let air go anywhere.

I too love 90's cars, but I also really dig this new muffstain. First of the new "muscle" cars I actually can drool over a little. Propz.

It's been a while since I've seen the car cause they unloaded it before the engine totally went to shit, but I'm 99% sure the scoop was complelty blocked off.

From what I've read, the biggest areas of weight loss are in the use of a true IRS system with aluminum control arms and subframe and more use of aluminum in the body like the front fenders (current cars already us aluminum hoods and trunks I think).

Always wondered why no one does a line lock on Miatas. Not for burnouts, but for the guys with no ebrake with upgraded calipers in the rear. A line lock seems like a alternative. Park car and lock the lines with pressure and leave it.

You mean like a hydro handbrake? They can be used as a dorifto stick (obviously) and be locked for parking purposes.
