but yeah, this has been a thing lately. Most companies are doing this since healthcare is "more affordable for you" it means it's less affordable for companies, and they really have no reasoning to extend benefits past the employee they are trying to swoon.
But I will state that this was all part of the original intent of the law...the more people that are dropped from employers opens up the way for the gov't to be a sole provider.

Lets not pretend that I am a fan of Obamacare. I'm just allergic to bullshit no matter who produces it. This article isn't based completely on speculation and refrains from using overly general phrases that mean very little but will more than likely prove in some way to be true no matter the overall outcome. Kind of like most psychic readings or horoscopes.

Good news everybody!
The rate of increase in health care costs has been slowing over the last 10 years or so.
The bad news is, your out-of-pocket healthcare costs may not reflect that trend and, even if they do, 4% per year CAGR is still not very comfortable.

Poll after poll shows that Americans want to see health-care costs brought down. But those polls are probably wrong. The American people certainly want to see their health-care costs brought down. But that’s not the same thing as seeing total health-care costs fall. It can even be the exact opposite thing.

edit--just read that Reason piece about Canada. What a bunch of pretzel logic. Boy, it's amazing the kind of statistics that can be pieced together to prove a point.

I'm going to make a pretty easy prediction, and we'll see if it comes true.
Obama HATES the sequester that he suggested. Pretty funny. He's looking for any excuse to make it the fault of the Republicans that we even have to limit spending, as if that's a bad thing.
Now we have Ted Cruz and the effort to de-fund Obamacare. That's a DAMN good idea, and it should happen simply on the grounds that the executive branch CANNOT selectively implement portions of a law, as they are with Obamacare. This should be the reason, plain and simple.
A lot of us see a major market correction occurring within the next month. I submit that the Democrats will try to link the market correction to the sequestration or to the defunding of Obamacare. They won't, as in WILL NOT, try to work with the Republicans to show a unified front in the face of millions of people losing money (and faith) in the stock market. This could also just as easily happen when the employment figures come out next month.

NYC has been the most populous city in the USA since 1850. The 2nd most populous city has changed a few times over century and half since then. Kind of interesting to see that NYC was following the same population curve as Chicago, Philly, and Baltimore (peaking in the '50s - '60s, then trending down) but turned around in the '80s where they have continued to lose population.
L.A., on the other hand, has been a pretty strong and consistent grower. It does look like the slope is slowing, but still positive.
