We are going to Savannah instead. I don't wanna risk things being closed and still in recovery when I wanna unwind. It's sad but we'll look at maybe February instead if all looks well.

I was just in Savannah a month ago. Enjoyed it quite a bit.

Stupid effing hurricane is heading back towards me.

Was just there a week ago! Stayed in the planters inn! Was pretty cool little place! Overpaid for seafood dinner though... Charleston food > Savannah food hands down.

Hope everyone in the peninsula is doing ok. I took this video earlier tonight from the beach in Panama City Beach, it's still pretty calm here,

We survived.

Power's out, limbs down on street, but the structure is intact. Breezy from the opposite direction and the center is way north of us now.

So tired.

Glad you made it through fine. It is just starting to hit us in Charleston. Rain and wind are picking up. Flooding down town. Overall it should be no where near as bad as Mathew last fall. So I should be find. I am supposed to be working remote today, but it looks like over half my company isn't online yet. So I guess I will build turbo setups instead.

I sent Viperormiata a message yesterday. I have not heard back, I will update here once I do, if I do. I believe all power and cell towers are out in the Keys. I have heard reports of most of the islands being under water at the worst times.

I bet you're tired. I can't sleep at all in bad storms. Afraid of falling trees. ATL has 6" of rain and 50mph gusts forecast for today. That rain will flood a lot of places here.

That is about what Charleston will be getting today. Along with a higher then normal storm surge. Downtown will be partly underwater more then usual.

I am glad the coast didn't head west. You guys are probably going to get it worse then us when it is all said and done now.

Stay safe Atlanta.

Just spoke with parents in JAX and everything at the beach and on the river is flooded- so I bet Savannah and Charleston get the same based on similar proximity to the Irma's trails.

How about that "anti-surge" at Tampa Bay?

We are at the green dot on this map. Category 2 and 105mph when it crossed us at about 1:30am. The trees took the brunt of it and kept the highest wind speeds above the buildings, thankfully. Power still out and trees are getting cleared up.

That's Hilsborough Bay. Family is fine, little to no damage to the infrastructure. My mother and my sisters, all live in the same subdivision. My middle sisters house (with two boys and BIL) never even lost power. My older sisiter and my niece, live with my mother, the lost power last night.

That manatees story, was both heartbreaking and uplifting!

I evacuated to sixshooter's just so I could experience the eye....which I slept through. My house was barely touched. My neighbor told me we never even lost power and the lights merely flickered a few times. I had a single sheet of aluminum flashing on the roof come off when it got hit by a branch and I already screwed it back in place. I have a bazillion branches in my yard and there was a palm tree that snapped in half down the street but other than that we made it out fine. I am feeling very lucky. My coworker in Wesley Chapel had her power go out and the utility company told her it could take 7-10 days to have power restored. I can't imagine.

I hope this is the worst of it. That's a 16" oak limb from the upper part of the tree. Brought down another 12" on the way down. Both mostly fell between our houses- being held up by the power guide line.
