More surprising was the finding that forcible rape offenses fell by 31 percent in Rhode Island from 2004 to 2009, as decriminalized indoor sex work scaled up in the state. This translates to 824 fewer reported rapes. The majority of the reduction in rapes came from Providence, where the state's sex work is concentrated.

I'm sorry, but if you're a healthy 15 year old male and you're trying to break off a relationship with an attractive 32 year old female schoolteacher who lets you borrow her car and gives you free weed, then there's something wrong which goes far deeper than just statutory rape.

On the minus side, if you're a 15 year old male who lives in San Luis Obispo and you are raped by a 34 year old woman who becomes pregnant, you are required to pay her child support.
