**Official Intake Manifold Thread**

So I've done some searching this morning as I'm thinking of upgrading my ported stock intake mani for a cleaner look but I can't seem to find anything solid. Post up different options we have in this thread along with numbers or any related info.

So far I know of:

Stock (ported/polished)--not a signifigant benefit over completly stock
Performer X/Blox/Skunk2 with modified flange
BEGi (heard was not a good optioon)
I saw a small add in here for another nice looking mani for $700 or so complelty custom aluminum but I cant find it now.

Let's get some intake options here! :bowrofl:

More info please, what motor and what's been done to said motor.
Cheers,
-JB

Looks custom, one off.

aaronc7 08-11-2011 11:25 PM

isn't that the gotpsi? intake manifold? thought the ones he made looked like that one, anyways.

I'm very interested in IM options as well..... someone on the forums needs to make a batch or something

Stock manifold with no results if it makes enough power to be useful. Half ass solution.

One off manifold.

Follow the easy steps.

Here

Gotpsi? 08-11-2011 11:41 PM

No thats not mine, There are a few threads around with mine in them, or on my web site to.

This was my prototype that I recently sold to Falcon.

https://www.miataturbo.net/showthrea...t=55533&page=4

And the dyno

https://www.miataturbo.net/dynos-timesheets-21/built-1-6l-c30-94-rotrex-14-8psi-peak-59448/

I recently did a honda mani conversion for someone and wont do it again, the casting is the crappiest aluminum I have ever welded in my life, and it took me just about as long as it would have to just build a new one.

An OEM engine looks like a piece of shit? charming

(that's my engine in that picture BTW).

If you think the EUDM intake manifold is crap you'd better speak with Emillo and tell him he is wrong :hustler:

Oscar 08-12-2011 04:23 AM

Does anyone actually take fail flora serious?

Every now and then I get my hands on a eudm manifold. Not cheap though....

It's crap unless you're trying to make crap HP.

BTW sorry for insulting your OEM engine. I know it's unique and precious.

RE: JDM/EUDM Manifold

I followed those threads and was underwhelmed by the dearth of information.

Cliffs:
  • It looks a little less restrictive than the POS-USDM manifold.
  • Track folks wanna try one.
  • People would buy one if it was cheap.
  • It is hard to get/expensive.
  • Somebody heard Scrooge McDuck bought up all the supply all so he can swim around in a big pile of OE Manifolds.

No performance data available.

Braineack 08-12-2011 11:56 AM

that sums it up.

Look, I asked Rick about implementing a "gmail goggles" style math test for you before you post but he said it isn't possible.

Lol, while it is Friday, it's only 12:43PM and there was no three martini lunch for me today. However, I was pretty hammered on Saturday night.

My grammatically liberal usage of internet pidgen (characterized by phonetic spelling, poor use of spaces, excessive capitalization and copy/paste) was inspired by the fucktardtastic jizzery over the undeserving EUDM manifold.

spd579 08-17-2011 01:01 PM

Ok so I just bought a Edlebrock victor x for a b18a/b head. Does anyone know how well the flanges line/dont line up to a 99 head? After looking at pics they look almost identical except for the injector slots on the manifold. Am I gonna have to dice this thig up to make it work? I cant find the dimensions for either flange anywhere.

There is a HUGE thread on here dedicated solely to Honda manifolds on the BP. Go find it.

Gotpsi? 08-17-2011 02:09 PM

You are going to have to weld up the injection holes and weld a Mata flange to it one you cut away all the material around the runners on the Honda one, then weld your Maita flange to that, have fun.

falcon 08-17-2011 02:11 PM

Really? I thought the BP was very close and you only really needed to port the runners a bit to match it and like 7 out of the 9 bolts worked? I can see the B6 needing a flange though because of the injector locations.

Everyone just needs to buy a GotPSI? manifold and leave the work to him. I'm very happy with the results of mine.

NickC 08-17-2011 05:43 PM

damn, this thread is too official.

spd579 09-16-2011 05:17 PM

Anyone know where I can get one of these? http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread...ntake+manifold
