Default 1999 Miata Injectors in 90 1.6 Miata Turbo

Hi Guys,

Are there any issues with installing 1999 redtop Miata injectors in a 90 1.6 Miata turbo vehicle? I know that the 94-97 Miata 1.8 230cc injectors are a drop-in upgrade but I am wondering if there are any known issues with using the 99 1.8 injectors instead since I can get my hands on them. I assume they are also a drop in replacement.

Your comments are welcome.

Hey. There's a pretty good (bad-***) FAQ available here:

I already answered this in the other forum.

Don't believe me? Try the SEARCH function. You'd be suprised what you can find.

the are supossed to have a better flow pattern since they run at 60psi vs. 50psi on all others.

but they flow signifigantly less than most others 1.8s. 240cc vs 265cc

Even though they look different, they fit just fine and work just fine too without any idle issues. I hear that they can make some pretty decent power too.

why do you think there is a difference in flow pattern?

they are thinner and don't look like a typical miata injector. I think they have different pintles/nozzles and were used to flow at 60psi on the 99-00 miatas.
