But i dunno Ben, i know many people who have had their cars tuned there just fine and i know Ed is a good tuner.

 

Nothing against Ed. I've had my car there (when it was an FMU and MSD piggy set up). But if you really want a good EMS tune on your car, then you need to see someone with a loading dyno. Like DIY Autotune In Suwannee. There's also a guy in Buford with a Mustang.

 

you can tune it pretty close on any dyno, take it to the street to check. Sure having a loaded dyno will make it easier, since you can lock it to a rpm and tune every load row, but it's not required to get a good tune and a safe tune.

Having been on both dynos, I prefer a loaded dyno... but since we own a dynojet manufactured sometime around the Cretaceous-Tertiary Extinction Event, we make due, and we make good power and the cars have good drivability on the street.

 

my 99 motor with gt2560r is making 271 to the wheels at 14psi, that's well over 300 to the crank if we use the standard 15-20% drivetrain loss. thats a stock 99 bottom too. cr 9.5:1


and that's street tuned. one of these days i'll get in on some dynapaks and see what we can do. maybe even DIY in the spring.

 

Jerry picked up 4hp and an average of 8wtq across the entire powerband going from an inertia "tune" to a load-based tune. Same boost level, just more power everywhere.
