CRAP! Yesterday evening I got some little smoke puffies of my own out the tailpipe. It smoked pretty good several times today. I've gotta wait until the wife gets home so I can follow her in the truck and watch her drive and see exactly what color the smoke it and what it's doing.

I've already checked the IC piping... CLEAN!
I'm off to Autozone right now for a 323GTX PVC valve and a compression gauge. I'm gonna check the rings and do a leakdown test tonight.

But I'm already pretty sure it's the turbine side leaking, check the pic. I've bypassed my MBC and am running wastegate only 8psi until I can rule out the engine.

It's very interesting that this happens the same damn week that I went to the dyno. My oil pressure isn't any higher than it used to be... maybe the turbo is just old. It was super clean when I got it, guy claimed it was a 40k mile JDM OEM piece.

I'm pretty sure I'm going w/GpopShop for a rebuild kit... anybody know of an online place that rebuilds for cheap... like in the $150range just in case I'm interested.

 

it'll do that if the housing bolts loosen too - I know

 

retighten everything and get a proper .063" restrictor. (which is half the size of your 1/8" restictor)
