Default hks ssqv win

Just replaced my crap knockoff type rs bov with a hks ssqv version 2 and I couldn't be more satisfied. The boost leak and idle problems are totally gone and the valve is performing flawlessly. I welded the flange directly to the intake piping right before the throttle body. Not only does it look a million times better, the hks unit responds much better at low boost levels. I will never again buy cheap parts. Tomorrow I finish welding my 2.5" exhaust which has only 1 45 degree bend. Excited to no longer have to run open downpipe. Ricy-est member? Perhaps...

yep... used this valve and it works great. if you dont like the sound, pull the fin insert out and it sounds like any other valve/compressed air.

That may end up happening. I might go through the other inserts before I straight up pull it out. I really dig it now but we'll see how long that lasts... By the way... the hardest part of putting the whole thing together was seating that dang snap ring. My cheap snap ring pliers kept bending making the whole process one long curse-fest.

I totally understand how you feel with this! My SAAB had a HKS SSQV on it and it was a total PITA! This is where your big and strong friends come in handy! lol

Lol at the shared hate for the snap ring. Broke a pair of snap ring pliers and a tip on my channel lock snap ring pliers trying to put that damn valve on.

Today was the first time I've been able to stomp on my car in a while. Oooh how I've missed covering those unlucky enough to be behind me in a cloud of black smoke. Need a tune...
