Default Can I cut this off?

Can I cut this tab off of the transmission? It would make downpipe routing much easier. I put a picture with the tab circled. I'm sure people have done this, just making sure i wont mess up the newly replaced trans.

I'd just like to point out that, given the nature of some of the conversations that take place on this forum, seeing a thread entitled "Can I cut this off?" makes me more than a tiny bit nervous.

And all the comments after it "yeah just cut it off it doesn't do anything anyway"

Ok so it does do something it is a casting in the side of the trans to hold the bracket that holds the original down pipe. To clarify my statement from earlier so I don't look like such an idiot. For what you are doing and being that most of the cars on this forum have custom down pipes for turbos you do not need this tab and it will not hurt anything to remove it.
