Default Anyone have any thoughts on this kit??

Saw this while surfing ebay. Is this too good to be true? Looks like you will be getting a 16G and a manifold and a 3" downpipe, those things alone are better than the greddy kit am I wrong?

Only thing I would worry about it the turbo itself, everything else can do the job even if it's not of the highest quality.

Bubba and Gyllom, please read the STICKY at the top of every page titled "Hey you NOOB".
Also, if you haven't read through the FAQ THREAD on the DIY page, give a good read in there too.
Welcome to the forum.

Then don't forget to use the search key. A title search for "eBay" in the DIY section would reveal this:

There are a few people that run that same Mani/DP, assuming its a megan racing brand..

i dont know about the turbo or anything.. but it looks like if your determined enough with a lot of tweaking you could get it to work.. however you probably could do better for the same price

If you take a look at the Turbo set-up in the Miata in the picture, it is not the same stuff that is all layed out in the description (I/C piping in particular). Look at the piping off of the turbo to I/C and also the throttle body piping (on car) - Do you see anything that resembles the stuff that they are displaying?
I don't !!!

My bad i didn't post the link! LOL Well after searching the DIY section i still didn't come up with anything about that turbo kit, and i did read the FAQ before this. As far as that kit goes, i also noticed the fact that the intercooler pipes aren't the same as the ones in the picture. Its basically a universal intercooler with a bunch of random bends and couplers which isn't that bad a deal being thats what you use to fab up your own anyways. So basically just being a knock off cheap turbo is the biggest thing to worry about? Which obviously is a big deal cause thats the most expensive part. but the manifold and downpipe look decent.

the DP is 2.5 atleast my megan racing DP is the pic of the system is correct onthe car just some weird custom air obstruction device in front of there car for some reason The megan stuff works but it is not for the faint of heart. the DP needs tweaking 9-10 times and the turbos are flip a coin every one i have heard of has gone through the ebay 16g already accept maybe a few that don't talk to me. Still the 16g is a wonderfull turbo and properly braced the manifold is less likely to crack on you. BTW i paid that much for everything but i bought the manifolds for cheaper and got a real MHI 16g for my peice of mine still came up under 900$ 14B's will also work with this stuff etc. happy boosting

Bubba, please read the "Hey you NOOB" announcement, and please click on this link: https://www.miataturbo.net/search.php?searchid=208434
The third thread from the bottom is the most informative.

This is the same search at miata.net:
