btb dyno is a great idea. if i go with .64 (tempting just to see) i'll send it up to you first.

Well, just in case anyone reading isnt aware what surge is, its basically when the turbo tries to supply more air than the engine is capable of swallowing.

this is what real compressor surge is and what i was meaning in terms of selecting a turbo too big for its application.

A 2860 with a .64 housing will work for your power goals.

Delcbr - a used T28 from a Pulsar GTI-R should meet your goals and mate up with the popular FM2 and BEGI cast manifolds. They're cheap and plentiful. Spool won't be amazing, but you can expect it to pull hard from 4500 rpm.

Alternatively try to pick up a GT2560 or GT2860, which are both ball bearing turbo's and will spool up more quickly then the journal T28 from the Pulsar.

I think just about every engine on this forum meets what you are looking for save for 2 or 3 higher profile builds. You aren't even trying.
