Yeah, wish they didn't want an arm and a leg for that and the butterfly, I would have one.
Using some relatively heavy guage sheetmetal it would be easy with a large press break. Could make them bolt on as well.
Now where's that darn thread he had on them.

ive heard the butterfly is hard to notice compared to just the rails....plus it's makes it a bitch to just pull the exhaust whenever you need to, not to mention get in the way.

I’ve been reading up on megasquirt but I don’t think I’m ready. It might be a good project for next year. Also I have access to a free beat up 1989 RX7 that had a blown engine and no transmission. I’m thinking about using the rear diff even tho it’s not a limited slip and maybe the injectors. Anything else I can use off the car?

if you're going FMU setup, dont bother with the injectors....look for 1.8L tan tops or supra 305s
the rear swap is easy...click the link in my sig for require parts. It's either a VLSD or open.
yeah get the turbo, get a cheap sas intercooler, or cut the bottom section off the oil cooler from the bottom of a junkyard radiator and get a buddy to make a coil to make a water to air intercooler. get a cheap pump and wire it to your ignition, either that or go with water injection. take out the carpet and trunk liner and take the top off, take out the passenger seat. remove smog junk, and take off the ac, modify the powersteering so you can get rid of the pump. upgrade your tires, upgrade to the 1.8 brakes from a junkyard miata.
DIY water injection would probably be much cheaper than IC. Browse the net, I've seen some WI systems homebuilt for about $150. Not pretty, but it would do the job @ GRMC
as much as it would be cool to dump in a shitload on the turbo...i think a good combo would just be a cheapass used greddy with 1.8l injectors run to about 6-8psi (about 170rwhp)
then spend the rest on tires and suspension and lightweight and braces

Just got the thing home and it looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me just to make the thing drivable. The brakes are junk, coils springs are broken, struts are unhappy, and the clutch will slip if given any throttle.
take out the soft top, for 50 lbs wieght savings and sell it to offset the cost in good shape it could bring 30 bucks. or sell the HT and ST HT could bring 500 or more. but i like the HT and it does help in the handling dept.
