I believe it is. I don't think the 1.6L in here is the same as the Miata and GTX 1.6L. It's some B6 variant (B6F?). Alot of it is the same but the block casting is different -I think-. The oil pan is 2 pieces. It has an aluminum skirt. Also this engine had 212cc injectors in it. What did the B6 Miata have 190s?

The charge pipe isn't hitting the battery. That's all temporary anyways. I needed it to drive the car. =)
B6T all 7.8:1 compression and 132 factory HP.

mmm........KLZE mx3. It would be a drop-in-and-go affair if he had a GS model. Wouldn't be practical at all on a 4-banger though.

Hey lazzer408

Are you running the probe 280cc injectors on the stock MX3 1.6 dohc ECU with no fuel management device like S-AFC or Emanage? How is the idle, acceleration and fuel economy with this setup? I wonder what you A/F are like also considering the stock injectors are like 205/210cc.

The idle is smooth, gas miliage is good. The only thing it seems to be effecting is warm-up (open loop?). It runs a bit rich but once it's warmed up it's ok.

I thought about a V6 swap on the 3 but I don't want to distract myself from the Miata. What I'd like to plan on is using the old Miata engine in the 3 if I can. Anything over 250hp in a front wheel drive car is sort of useless imo but if I happen to get my hands on a awd Protege it's on to make the 3 awd.

It's been done on a Protoge.

bullllllllllshit. The cooling system is different. The wiring harness is completely different. You will need different cv shafts.

It's similar to trying to put a KLZE in a 4-banger Mx6. It can be done, but only really if you have a parts car you can steal every single part from.

I didn't say it COULDN'T be done, just that it's MUCH HARDER.

I was thinking... I bet I could just stick a Miata ecu in here and wire up the cas from it. Everything else should be close. I'm sure the ve of the engine is different so the factory maps might be a little off but it can't be that bad. Probably have to re-pin the connectors but thats no biggie. Too bad I sold off my old 1.8 ecu or I'd try it.

But only one coil so where do you get 2 pulses for a wasted spark setup?

nice mx3. that BG is a capable platform.

if you need shocks, look into ford racing shocks from the ZX2 s/r. you have to enlarge the hole in the strut top mounts, but i believe you can get these shocks for ~@$200. they are revalved tockicos. tie in the lower subframe at the front. also, check to see if both of your rear trailing links are adjustable. if only one, go grab the adjustable one of the junker you found. it will give you more adjustability for alignments.
