Holset hx30
Hello, I have a 1995 1.8. It currently running a China turbo setup t25 flange with 3inch homemade exhaust. I have a Holset hx30 brand new. I have decided I just want ultimate spool with around 300bhp. I am going to put some rods in the engine and oil pump ect supporting mods. I would like to know how this turbo compares to the popular Garret 2554 and 2560 turbo's
I think this is what Aidan once ran on his 1.6, made 250 iirc with good spool. You'd have to get his attention for actual numbers though. If my memory is correct, those numbers on a 1.6 would indicate it's much closer to a 2560. I'm not sure it'll net you your 300hp however.

I wanted to run one, never could find one used though. On a 1.8 and pushing the turbo hard i think 300+ would be possible.
I went EFR instead because I hate my wallet.

Apparently the g series still underperforms compared to the efr series.
just get the efr 6258 and easily run 300whp with excellent transient boost response (the best in the biz because integrated bpv, which cant be copied) and boost threshold as low as 2000rpm.

I would like efr 6258 but they are alot of money. I have seen how good they can be with Greg peters using one on his car. I am thinking of just running hx30 turbo due it not being oversized like i thought it was. I also like the vband on the exhaust side as the garrett flange is a pain plus i can have the option of a screamer pipe. Hx30 is also a bit different from the norm of garrett.
