I read braineack's thread about 16 thousand times so far, researched every single step and then every part need for that step and made an informed choice. Ive spent far more time reading than wrenching.
Who knows though, maybe he's full of **** and it wont even start j/k

The only thing i'll wait on for now is MS, because for one i don't understand how to tinker with it yet but could probably screw it up in a grand fashion in short order, and two i don't have a laptop, but am building a carputer for all the mp3s anyway so it may as well serve a dual purpose and i would rather have a permanent install over a notebook flopping around on my seat anyday.

Any preferances between the two and why?
Which is better is yet to be determined. I've seen no side by side comparison with all other things being equal. I personally prefer the engineering and construction of the BEGI stuff.

I did a really good job of throwing it together to look real, but what you are really building is a bomb to go off when you turn the key...remember Michael Corleone's wife? that's you bitch!

Just search out build threads if you really want a parts list of people who tossed together DIY kits. Most people are too lazy to regurgitate what is on our cars more then once.

If your a mechanic, then you should really have no issue just buying a kit and slapping it on. Hell, it may be the best option depending on your budget.

Real men have a tablet PC mounted to a column on the floor, police-style.

Next time i'm at the Gun Club i'll turn in my man card.. I'd rather be an anti-man than have the display from the drive thru at Micky-D's in my Miata.

If you really want a good handle on things go search for threads made by me, 4 months and older. I have asked every noob question you could possibly think of asking, and beaten a lot of them to death. There is probably nothing you could think of that I havent asked.
